At Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s extravagant wedding, Vidya Balan’s sustainable ethnic attire was the centre of attention. Taken from plant-dyed silk cotton Chanderi and adorned with beautiful metal Lampi Gota, her Indira Assi Kali ghaghra took over 100 hours to make, especially when worn with a Gulrez choli.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s lavish Indian wedding was nothing short of a fashion spectacle. In addition to the bride and groom looking stunning, the wedding guests also had immaculate attire.
The Ambani wedding featured an array of must-have styling pieces and fashion trends. A totally different reason, though, is why Vidya Balan’s lehenga is going viral than any of the many striking costumes that dominated the show. In addition to its stunning ethnic style, Vidya’s lehenga is gaining attention for its eco-friendliness.
Decoding Vidya Balan desi look
Vidya Balan chose Re-Ceremonial for her OOTD, which will appeal to all fashion fans. According to the brand, she is dressed in the 24-meter-circumference Indira Assi Kali ghaghra, which is trimmed with metal Lampi Gota and made of silk cotton Chanderi. She wore it with a hand-embroidered Gulrez choli that took more than a hundred hours to make and included glass beads and metal Most thread.
The silk chunri, on the other hand, is covered in metal sikka kaam. And, finally, the silver dupatta in silk tissue with recycled cotton Himroo pallus is both edged with delicate Gota.
However, the pièce de résistance has to be the golden colour of the ensemble, which was achieved in the nicest way imaginable. With the use of marigold petals presented at the Te Siddhivinayak temple, all the items seen on Vidya are plant-dyed.
As always, Vidya’s accessory selection was striking: a maang teeka, a traditional hairpin, and spectacular cascading earrings encrusted with pearls and jewels. She created the ultimate traditional look by finishing off the ensemble with a sophisticated braided updo accented with fragrant gajra flowers.
