Bollywood actress Vidya Balan believes that finding the perfect home is all about fate, or what she calls a “kismet connection”. Speaking at an event in Sydney, where she addressed 1,100 real estate developers, Vidya shared her personal experiences of house hunting and how destiny played a crucial role in finding her dream home. “You walk into a house and you know it’s yours,” she told the audience.
Recalling her own journey, Vidya Balan shared how she and her mother were searching for a house about 15 years ago. She had her sights set on Bandra or Juhu, areas closer to her work, as commuting to Chembur took too much time. After seeing several properties, they finally found a home they loved, but it was beyond their budget. Despite the financial challenges, her mother encouraged her to work towards paying the EMI and eventually, they purchased the house. “When I walked into the house, it felt like my home,” Vidya explained, underscoring her belief in the role of destiny in finding the right place.
Currently, Vidya and her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur live in a rented house. She shared how they visited around 25 homes but could not settle on one they both liked. After much deliberation, they finally chose to rent a house they both loved. Vidya admitted that, having always lived in her own house, she was initially hesitant about renting. However, they decided to take up the property and were content with the decision. “Our landlord is happy as he is earning a fat cheque,” Vidya humorously added.
On the professional front, Vidya’s fans can look forward to her upcoming film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is expected to release soon.
