The Mumbai rain didn’t depress actor Vidya Balan, who went out to celebrate the re-release of her movie Parineeta. When she gave a heartfelt homage to veteran performer Rekha by kissing her hand and touching her feet, it took a sweet turn, and she stole the show.
The touching encounter between Vidya Balan and Rekha
Vidya was present at the re-release ceremony of her movie Parineeta on Monday, which was also attended by Rajkumar Hirani, Dia Mirza, Shreya Ghoshal, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
The thrill of the event was shared on social media, where several images and videos appeared. One video in particular, in which Vidya Balan was shown getting thrilled as Rekha entered, attracted notice.
In one video, Vidya and Rekha can be seen hugging each other warmly after meeting.
An adorable scene between Vidya and Rekha, who become excited to see each other and give each other a heartfelt hug, was caught on camera during the event. In another video, Vidya can be seen kissing Rekha’s hands after stroking her feet.
Fans were ecstatic about Vidya and Rekha’s lovely chemistry. They said how happy they were to see the two icons showing love and respect for one another on social media.

Parineeta will re-release in theaters
On its twentieth anniversary, Parineeta will be re-released in theaters. On August 29, the love drama will have a one-week exclusive re-release in a few theaters across India. Parineeti, which was directed by the late Pradeep Sarkar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, was Vidya Balan’s Bollywood acting debut.
In addition to commemorating 20 years of Vidya Balan’s career in Indian cinema and 50 years of Vinod Chopra Films, the special re-release marks 20 years after the release of Parineeta. When Parineeta was first released in 2005, it was met with both critical and financial success. Shantanu Moitra’s soundtrack and Saif Ali Khan, Vidya Balan, and Sanjay Dutt’s performances are what people remember most about the movie.
