Vijay Varma Shares Emotional Story Of Missing Jaideep Ahlawat’s Wedding For This Reason

In a recent interview, actor Vijay Varma revealed how he and his friends missed their close friend Jaideep Ahlawat’s wedding back in 2009. Both actors were part of the same batch at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), and Jaideep had shared the exciting news of his upcoming marriage with his then-girlfriend, Jyoti Hooda, who was also a junior at the institute.

Vijay recounted the excitement among the group when Jaideep first announced his wedding plans. Despite being broke at the time, he and his friends were determined to attend the wedding. “We were very broke but very excited. We knew we had to attend the wedding, no matter what. We booked our train tickets and bought clothes in advance,” Vijay recalled.

However, things took an unexpected turn when Jaideep landed his first major film role with director Priyadarshan. The shooting schedule for the film clashed with his wedding date. Priyadarshan advised Jaideep to delay the wedding, saying, “Shaadi aage kar lo” (Postpone the wedding). Given how important the opportunity was for his career, Jaideep agreed and rescheduled the wedding by a week. This decision eventually led to his role in the film Khatta Meetha (2010), starring Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan.

The sudden change in plans left Vijay Varma and his friends in a bind. They had already purchased train tickets and couldn’t afford to buy new ones. Vijay shared, “We didn’t know what to do with our tickets. We were like, ‘dobara toh nahi kharid paayenge’ (we won’t be able to buy them again).” Unable to make it to the rescheduled wedding, the group missed the celebration, which left Jaideep disappointed. For several months, no one talked about it, as both sides felt guilty. Vijay explained, “We knew we had wronged him, and he felt he had wronged us by postponing the wedding.”

Months later, during a get-together, the unresolved tension finally surfaced. After a few drinks, Jaideep faced his friends and talked about missing his wedding. Vijay fondly recalled the emotional moment, saying, “He was sulking. We had some ‘juice’, and after a few drinks, he started howling, complaining that none of his friends attended his wedding. Looking at him, all of us started crying with him, juice ke nashe mein.”

Well, that is really emotional, isn’t it?
