Virat Kohli Needs Just One Century To Surpass Sachin Tendulkar To Break The Record Of…

India’s five-match Test series against Australia, starting on November 22 in Perth, will be a crucial one for star batter Virat Kohli. The 36-year-old right-hander is poised to break significant records during the 2024-25 edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Virat Kohli, who currently has six Test centuries in Australia, is tied with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. However, Kohli achieved this milestone in just 13 matches compared to Tendulkar’s 20 matches. If Kohli scores at least one century in the upcoming series, he will surpass Little Master to become the Indian player with the most Test centuries on Australian soil.

Additionally, Virat Kohli has a chance to break another record if he scores two centuries during the series. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting holds the record for the most centuries scored in India-Australia Test matches played in Australia, with seven centuries in 15 matches. Achieving this feat would place Kohli at the top of the list and further cement his legacy in one of cricket’s fiercest rivalries.

The all-time record for the most Test centuries by a visiting batter in Australia is held by England’s Jack Hobbs, who scored nine centuries in 24 matches during his career. While Kohli is focused on giving his best for India, every run scored will bring him closer to these historic milestones.
