Virat Kohli Reveals How Dinesh Karthik Helped Him Come Out Of Lean Phase

The Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik who is 38 years old now has bid goodbye to the IPL as the eliminator that Royal Challengers Bangalore played against Rajasthan Royals was the last match in his IPL career.

Dinesh Karthik did not say anything about his retirement but his actions after the match, the manner in which he was embraced by his teammates and the guard of honour that he got made it clear that DK played his last IPL match.

The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli also opened up on his association with Dinesh Karthik and also revealed how DK helped him in coming out of lean phase. Virat Kohli said, “Off the field, I have had some really nice and interesting conversations with him and he is a very wise man. He has great knowledge about a lot of things, not just cricket. I have thoroughly enjoyed my conversations with him. Even in the phase in 2022 when I didn’t have a great IPL season and I was really struggling for confidence. He sat me down a couple of times and just gave me a very honest explanation of how he is seeing things and maybe I’m not being able to see them myself.”

Virat Kohli further added, “So I just like his honesty, his courage to go and speak to anyone about things that he really dearly feels about. That I think is the most special thing for me, when it comes to Dinesh and that’s something that I’ve always cherished about him. That’s why we get along really, really well.”

DK played 257 matches in the IPL in which he scored 4842 runs, his strike rate is around 135, he has smashed 22 fifties and his highest score is 97*.

Have a great future, Dinesh Karthik!
