The Indian cricket team will be playing a 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan starting from 11 January 2024 and fans of skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were quite happy as they both have made a comeback in the T20I format.
The last T20I match which Rohit and Virat played was the semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 which India lost to England and there were speculations that the selectors have made up their minds to select a young team because of which both these players are not getting selected in the T20 team.
However, it is being said that both Rohit and Virat made it clear to the selectors that they want to play the upcoming T20 World Cup which will be played in June in West Indies and USA. The chief selector Ajit Agarkar travelled to South Africa in order to have a discussion with both the players. On Sunday, the BCCI announced the Indian squad for the Afghanistan series and both the senior cricketers are back in the team.
