Virender Sehwag Slams Pakistan Team For Timid Approach Against Ireland

The T20 World Cup 2024 campaign of the Pakistani cricket team ended with a win against Ireland, the match was played yesterday at Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, Lauderhill, Florida and Pak won it by 3 wickets.

Though Pakistan won the match, there were many who slammed the team for the manner in which they played, first Pakistan let Ireland reach the score of 106/9 despite the fact that Ireland lost six wickets at the score of 32 and then Pakistan took 19 overs in chasing the target and that too after losing 7 wickets.

The former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag was also not happy with Pakistan’s performance, he said, “We didn’t think that (Ireland) would reach 106 runs and we also didn’t think that Pakistan would take 19 overs to chase that down.”

He further added, “What have Pakistan done here, I don’t get it. Yes, they won but first they let them go from 32/6 to 106 and then it wasn’t like it was a very difficult wicket or that Ireland’s bowling was so good that you had to play so carefully in the chase.”

Viru paaji also emphasized on the need of Pakistan selecting new batters in the team who can bat with high strike rates
