Vivek Oberoi, known for openly sharing both his personal and professional experiences, recently looked back on his early entrepreneurial endeavors. He fondly recalled how, as a 10-year-old, he went door-to-door selling perfumes. “I was about 10 when my father, Suresh Oberoi, told me we’d go on a holiday, but first, he wanted to teach me some important lessons,” Vivek shared. He admitted to making mistakes but gaining valuable business insights.
In an interview, Vivek credited his father for fostering a business mindset from a young age. Suresh Oberoi gave him the responsibility of managing a perfume inventory and selling the products for a profit. Vivek embraced this challenge, selling perfumes door-to-door on his bicycle, an experience that laid the foundation for his entrepreneurial skills.
By age 15, Vivek had started brainstorming his own business ventures and even dabbled in the stock market. At 19, he launched a tech startup, which he successfully sold by 22. “That’s when I realized it was possible to build a company and sell it for a profit,” Vivek explained. This success showed him the vast potential of entrepreneurship and shaped his career decisions.
Vivek stressed the importance of hard work, saying, “We have to give 100 percent. The result will mostly be good, whether it’s in films, business, philanthropy, or love. Teamwork and vision play a crucial role.”
Though Vivek Oberoi found fame in Bollywood with films like Saathiya, Yuva, and Krrish 3, his entrepreneurial journey significantly impacted his approach to both business and acting. Most recently, he appeared in Rohit Shetty’s web series Indian Police Force alongside Shilpa Shetty and Sidharth Malhotra.
On the personal front, Vivek married Priyanka Alva in 2010, and the couple has two children, daughter Ameya Nirvana and son Vivaan Veer.
