“We Hope to Host Olympics in 2036,” Says PM Modi

“We hope to host the Olympics in 2036”, states Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his meeting with athletes of the Paris Olympics. He invited their feedback.
On Thursday, Modi held both an in-person and online conversation with Paris-bound athletes, offering advice from their experience for the benefit of their country.
Narendra Modi made this revelation while speaking with Paris-bound athletes and has asked their federations for valuable inputs from their experience.
He further asked that any athletes participating share valuable ideas to make India an Olympic host nation by 2036.

“We hope to host the Olympics in 2036; this will create a sporting atmosphere and work is underway to prepare infrastructure,” he announced at an interaction attended by representatives of national men’s hockey, shooting contingent, boxers and track-and-field stars such as Neeraj Chopra.

“I won’t ask you to interrupt any of your events; however, when free, I encourage you to observe our bid for 2036 and offer your inputs for improvement,” he added.
“Today I met our Olympic contingent traveling to Paris. I am confident our athletes will represent India well and make us all proud; their journeys inspire hope among 1.4 billion Indians,” wrote Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media after attending.

India will aim to break its best-ever haul of seven medals achieved at Tokyo by taking part in the Paris Olympic Games between July 26 and August 11.
Neeraj Chopra made history when he won gold for the javelin throw at these Games. On Friday morning, Prime Minister Modi shared a video of their interaction on his official Twitter handle and hashtagged it with
“#CheerForBharat.”

Over 100 Indian sportspeople have qualified for the Games, including an unprecedented 21 shooters who will aim to break their medal drought from previous editions.
