Viral Video: Did Virat Kohli lose his cool when KKR’s star hit four sixes in one over?

0

Jason Roy starred with a blistering fifty as Kolkata Knight Riders regained their mojo to post a battling 200 for five against RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) in the IPL 2023 in Bengaluru.

Following falling to seventh place following four consecutive losses, KKR finally got into the act, with Roy setting the tone up front with five sixes and four boundaries on way to his 56 runs in 29 balls as he and Narayan Jagadeesan (27 runs; 29 balls) gave KKR their greatest ever begin – in 56 balls, 83 runs.

KKR’s batting came on each side of Sri Lankan legspin wonder Hasaranga’s two fantastic bowling stints, as he returned by means of 4-0-24-2.

His thrifty powerplay effort was the cause for Vyshak Vijay Kumar’s double blow, which witness him expel Jagadeesan and Roy.

Nitish Rana, on the other hand, easily reached his 21-ball 48 (3×4, 4×6) by taking advantage of his two reprieves, which occurred on 5 and 19, to retain them from losing the motion.

Rinku Singh (18 runs not out; 10 balls), the new hero of team, then took control by smashing 2 fours and 1 six to help Kolkata Knight Riders pass the barrier of 200-run.

David Wiese smashed 2 sixes for a perfect twelve.

Roy gave Kolkata Knight Riders their best-ever begin to the season with a 22-ball fifty during the powerplay, his second in a row.

When left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed was inserted in the final over of the powerplay, the Englishman exhibited his ire at the likes of RCB new ball bowlers, Mohammed Siraj, and David Willey.

Roy smashed him for four sixes in five balls in a 25-run thrashing as KKR cruised to their greatest powerplay total score of the year with Sixty-Six for no loss.

But the Willy Lankan spinner Hasaranga deserves praise for bowling a clean over during the powerplay in which he allowed only two runs to pile pressure on the pair.

When the constraints were unexpectedly removed, Vyshak Vijay Kumar and Harshal Patel constricted the rope even tighter, emphasising their evident misbehaviour.

While Roy had a gem of a delivery from the uncapped Indian who got a brilliant legstump yorker to attack the Englishman round his stump, Jagadeesan, who was struggling to make big smashes, was carried out by a Vyshak Vijay Kumar bouncer.

“The Kashmir Files Got 7 Nominations At Filmfare & I’m Not Invited,” Says Producer

The Filmfare is certainly the biggest award event of the Indian movie industry but over the years, it has become quite controversial too as there are many who openly allege that the award function is rigged and the awards can easily be bought or obtained in exchange of a dance performance.

Though the awards ceremony has taken place yesterday (27 April 2023) at the Jio World Convention Center, Mumbai, controversies started just after the nominations were announced by the committee.

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri directed “The Kashmir Files” has been nominated in 7 categories but the director has made it clear that he won’t be attending the ceremony as he feels that it is an unethical and anti-cinema award. After Vivek Agnihotri, Abhishek Agarwal, the producer of “The Kashmir Files” has criticized the Filmfare and called them unfair. He also states that despite the fact that his movie is nominated in 7 categories, he hasn’t been invited to the function.

Contagious smile, deep eyes & warm heart – Remembering Irrfan – a friend every human desires to have. ; Jay Patel

“From pay checks to passion, from fancy restaurants to boutique bookstores, from costing conversations to casting roles, from planned trips to random strolls, I feel blessed that I was introduced to the life of an Artist through the most humble eyes of yours Irrfan”

Irrfan I still remember how poles apart our lives and world were when Tishu (Tigmanshu Dhulia) introduced us! You belonged to the world of arts while I came from the world of business and yet, we shared this beautiful bond of friendship that made me realize that we were more alike than different. While the bond that you and Tishu shared was unparalleled, I enjoyed being the third wheel and our friendship, our conversations and our minds brought to life. Some life long memories that I would take to my grave.

Through daily visits at small cafes; the boutique bookstores; the quirky art stores, and the unique specialty stores, I got to explore New York from the perspective of an artistic explorer. It made me realize that you craved for the unseen and you always took the unexplored path instead of exploring the tried and tested fancy clubs and lounges, fine dining and winning that the city had to offer.

I still remember how you picked up a random book, opened the book to middle and then read a page out loud. After reading it you asked if I could create the start and end of the story in the book. I marvelled at how your mind functioned? Even today when I think of art, I remember your definition which said that, “Art is all about picking a random start and allowing your imagination to run wild and free and create our own stories.”

I loved how we used to hang out at stairs of church 51st and 5th Ave and created our own stories and scenes from thin air and gossips of casting strangers like, “dekh wo amir khan aa raha hey”, “Tom cruise ke hath me chhaata ”, “gangstar walk maisanjayduttchalraha hey, “some hairy guy bole to gora anil kapoor”. You made me believe that life lies in small moments.

One of the lesser known facts about Irrfan was his love for sports. We always planned trips to watch FIFA together and in 2014 when he had to cancel our trip to watch FIFA world cup in Brazil due to his work, Irrfan called me while I was in the stadium with my buddies Deepak mewada and Tom Ryan asked me to get the “Brazil team ka yellow waala jacket”. Oh Irrfan how I wish we could once again cheer our hearts out and laugh till it hurt while wearing those Yellow Jackets!

I remember you choose art over brands. We share our vulnerability of hating confined areas and loving open skies.Irrfan I wish, I could once again hear you say, “I never act; I am that character! And as soon as I am out of character, I step into my world of Art.” Oh Irrfan, how I wish I could meet you once again, ‘a man of few words but whose eyes spoke volumes. I will always remember the lessons that you have taught me. We discussed freedom that comes without barriers and schedules that seem like punishments.

You showed me through your perspective; how the whole world is just a big theatrical event and the 8 billion people of this world are all Artists in their own individual way. That we have to play our roles according to our skills, our labels and our upbringing. You made me realize that the performers and the watchers in a circus are all part of the same circus. You showed me the beauty of imagination. You and Tishu made me realize my passion for Arts, Music, culture and for this, I will always be thankful to you.

I sit under the open skies, every time I sip from a cup of your hot favourite Turkish tea and every time I take a walk in NYC restaurants, the BMW, (Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg bridges)and our bookstore at Soho!, photographs taken from you. I would resemble you in every artist I see and I will miss you every time I meet Tishu!

God Bless your family! Babil & Ayan, are just your reflection and its commendable how Sutapaji is holding it up all together so bravely.

Irrfan, I hope you are discovering the wonders of heaven by taking strolls at its beautiful bridges while you will live through the hearts of millions like me on Earth! Till we meet again and continue our walks, our talks and our laughs while strolling the bridges in the skies…

Are we in danger from an asteroid as tall as the Eiffel Tower? NASA Warns

0

The speed at which a gigantic space asteroid is approaching Earth is mind-boggling! On April 26, the enormous asteroid 2006 HV5 will pass uncomfortably near to Earth, according to NASA. Near-Earth asteroids are asteroids that circle the Sun and pass quite close to the Earth’s orbit, according to NASA. Depending on their size, these asteroids have the potential to do significant damage if they strike our planet.

Space organisations like NASA and ESA closely monitor any Potentially Hazardous Objects to prevent any collisions and damage. The most recent is an asteroid the size of the Eiffel Tower that is hurtling towards Earth. Do you need to worry? Understand what NASA stated.

The Centre for Near-Earth Object Studies at NASA has given the asteroid the designation Asteroid 2006 HV5. NASA’s CNEOS data showed that asteroid 2006 HV5 would approach Earth on April 26 at a distance of 1.5 million miles. As a matter of fact, it is currently racing towards Earth at a speed of 62723 km per hour.

The asteroid is surprising because of its enormous size. According to NASA, Asteroid 2006 HV5 is approximately 1007 feet tall, which is similar to the height of the Eiffel Tower, which is 1083 feet tall. The Aten group of asteroids includes 2006 HV5 as one of its members.

Does it pose a risk to Earth? Yes! Based on specific criteria, the space agency determines what constitutes a potentially dangerous asteroid. According to NASA’s JPL, asteroids that can reach the Earth within 4.6 million miles and are larger than 150 metres are classified as potentially dangerous objects. As a result, 2006 HV5 has been classified as a potentially dangerous object.

Without the aid of cutting-edge equipment, it can be challenging to follow these asteroids. The NEO Observations Programme, which is charged with locating, tracking, and characterising NEOs and identifying those that may represent a threat to Earth, was formed by NASA to detect the threat. One of the well-known telescopes used to look for asteroids that could threaten Earth is NASA’s NEOWISE.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan: Salman Khan’s Latest Song Under Fire for ‘Senseless’ Rhymes!

Let’s Dance Chotu Motu, the most recent dance number from Salman Khan’s new movie Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, has drawn criticism. The Early Childhood Association denounced the song Let’s Dance Chotu Motu and wrote an open letter to the film industry urging them to cease celebrating the “senseless” use of out-of-date nursery tunes in their productions.

Salman sings several nursery rhymes in the song Let’s Dance Chotu Motu, including Jack and Jill, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Humpty Dumpty, although the song doesn’t explain why they are there. The nursery rhymes and the rap segments, which are handled by Neha Bhasin and Yo Yo Honey Singh, appear to have been weirdly combined.

In a recent open letter, the Early Childhood Association (ECA) criticised the usage of nursery rhymes in the movie’s song titled as ‘Let’s Dance Chotu Motu’ from Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and urged the film industry to exercise caution when producing material for young audiences.

What did Sunil Gavaskar say about Ajinkya Rahane’s selection in India’s WTC final squad?

0

Sunil Gavaskar, a legendary batsman, applauded the selection committee’s decision to include Ajinkya Rahane back to the Test team for the World Test Championship match against Australia in June. Gavaskar emphasised that selection of Ajinkya Rahane was based on more than only his outstanding performance in the IPL 2023; it was also based on his domestic performance and the expertise he brings to the middle order.

India’s 15-man selection for the WTC final, which will be held at the Oval in London from June 7 to 11, includes Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane was benched during India’s cricket tour of SA (South Africa) in Jan 2022 and had not returned, but the injuries to Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer may have had an impact on his decision to rejoin the team.

In seven games as Mumbai’s captain, Ajinkya Rahane scored 634 runs in the Ranji Trophy, which include a double hundred and a hundred. Ajinkya put his head down, played domestic cricket once again, and carried over his strong performance from the IPL. Rahane, who is recreating his T20 game in company of CSK (Chennai Super Kings) in the IPL 2023, has scored 209 runs in 5 games with a strike rate of almost 200.

In Shreyas Iyer’s absence, Sunil Gavaskar argued that the decision to choose Ajinkya Rahane was a wise one. The former captain of India discussed the dilemma with the XI’s wicketkeeper as well as his ideal starting lineup.

KL Rahul, who was benched from the starting XI during the 4-Test series against Australia owing to poor form, has been kept in the side. KS Bharat, who had a respectable debut series in Border-Gavaskar Trophy, has been chosen as the designated wicketkeeper in the team.

There have been requests to deploy Rahul as wicketkeeper to give the middle order more stability even though Bharat would offer a specialised alternative.
