Revolutionary Move: Apple Set to Introduce ‘Apple Pay’ Payment Feature in India

Apple is working towards launching its payment service, Apple Pay, in India’s South Asian market. The company is in talks with NPCI and other relevant authorities to make this possible.

Apple has been eager to introduce its payment system, known as Apple Pay, in India for a while. Apple wants iPhone users in India to be able to scan QR codes and initiate UPI transactions without needing to use any PSP app, the people said, requesting anonymity because the conversations were private. Apple has recently engaged with numerous Indian authorities and officials and plans to soon speak with NPCI regarding the launch of its payments service Apple Pay in the South Asian market.

A request for comment sent to Apple on May 24 received no response. There hasn’t been any prior information about Apple Pay’s resuming talks with India.  Apple intends to speak with local regulatory organisation, particularly the NPCI, a special section of India’s Reserve Bank of India.

Apple Pay would be entering a market that is extremely competitive and already has firms like PhonePe, GooglePay, WhatsAppPay, and Paytm.

Tim Cook reportedly met with Indian authorities to discuss a localized version of Apple Pay, which would allow users to scan QR codes and start UPI transactions without the use of outside apps, according to news agency ANI. Apple also wants consumers to utilize the Face ID function to confirm UPI transactions.

Apple has recently engaged with numerous Indian authorities and officials and plans to soon speak with NPCI regarding the launch of its payments service Apple Pay in the South Asian market.

Apple hasn’t yet started talks with regional partners (banks), though. In March, Apple unveiled “Apple Pay Later,” a buy-now, pay-later service available to only a small number of US customers.

Apple Pay Later, which was first introduced at the WWDC in 2017, enables consumers to divide the cost of an Apple Pay Purchase into four equal installments over the course of six weeks with no interest or late fees.

Because India is a small market for Apple, the potential introduction of Apple Pay there is unlikely to upend the ecosystem’s established players, who handle more than 8 billion transactions monthly on the UPI platform. Android is installed on more than 90% of all smartphones in India.

Scam Alert: Fake PMO Official Arrested for Defrauding Private School in Gujarat

0

Keep up with the most recent scam in Gujarat, where a fake acting as a PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) official was caught defrauding a private school.

A man from Vadodara, Gujarat, was detained for assuming the identity of a PMO official in order to enroll two children in a local private school and attempt to defraud it of sizable sums of money, an official said on Saturday.

Mayank Tiwari was detained on Friday, months after Kiran Patel, a native of Ahmedabad, was detained in Jammu and Kashmir from a five-star hotel for impersonating a senior official from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). In addition to providing hospitality, Patel had obtained security protection by deceiving Valley officials.

According to the officer from the city’s Waghodia police station, Tiwari initially contacted the school and its trustee in March 2022, during the admissions season, identifying himself as a director (strategic advice) in the Fake PMO in New Delhi.

The official said Tiwari, a middle-aged man, requested the school’s assistance with the enrollment of two boys of his “family friend,” Mirza Baig, an Indian Army official whom he described as being moved to Vadodara from Pune.

The trustee, who is also connected to a private university in Vadodara, was requested to meet with Tiwari by the school’s director. Tiwari’s WhatsApp status stated that he was a “PMO official.”

A middle-aged guy named Tiwari requested assistance from the school for the admission of two boys of his “family friend,” Mirza Baig, an Indian Army official, whom he identified as being moved from Pune to Vadodara, the official added.

According to the first information report (FIR), the slick-talker gained the trust of the trustee and the director of the institution with the goal of defrauding them of sizable sums. The official said that he also obtained the two kids’ admission as exceptional situations.

A few months later, the trustee began to question Tiwari’s claims to be a PMO representative and the educational research initiatives he had described. She then began conversing with those in her social circle and quietly asked them about Tiwari, the official claimed.

The trustee eventually learned that Tiwari was deceiving them by fabricating a story about his “immense influence” and that he was not a PMO employee. The FIR stated that his profession was also unclear. After that, the trustee informed the school last month.

YouTube introduces new guideline for fan channels; Details here

YouTube has introduced a new guideline for fan channels to ensure the authenticity of content and prevent deceptive activities. Starting August 21, 2023, users must clearly identify their channel as their own, and copying another channel’s names, avatars, or banners is prohibited. This policy aims to protect legitimate fan channels and prevent dishonest behavior.

Google’s video-sharing platform, YouTube, recently launched a new guideline focused towards fan channels to safeguard the veracity of material and stop deceptive activities. Beginning August 21, 2023, users of fan channels on YouTube will need to make it clear in the name or handle of their channel that it is not an official representation of the original creator, artist, or business.

The business explained this move on a help website, highlighting the importance of openness and honesty among YouTube users. It will no longer be permitted for channels to submit their work again under the guise of being a “fan account” for another author. Additionally, it will be against the law for channels to copy another channel’s names, avatars, or banners while making just small changes like adding spaces or changing letters to digits.

The goal of this policy change is to protect legitimate fan channels from copycats and shield creators from improper use of their names and likenesses. By adhering to these rules, the platform hopes to keep its viewers’ confidence and prevent them from being duped by dishonest channels they interact with and follow.

Additionally, YouTube modified its YouTube Partner Program (YPP) qualifying standards last week. The bar for entry into the program has been decreased by the platform for smaller producers.

The new rule states that if creators attain 500 subscribers and 3,000 legitimate watch hours, they are eligible to join the program. The simplified qualifying requirements will initially be implemented in a number of nations, including the US, UK, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea.

A wider spectrum of content providers now have access to revenue options. Now, smaller channels have access to tools for generating revenue, such as paid chat, tipping, channel subscriptions, and shopping capabilities.

A Man and His Cousin Were Stabbed By Their Neighbors in North-Eastern Delhi’s Brijpuri Area.

After a man and his cousin were stabbed by their neighbor in the Brijpuri neighborhood of northeast Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has again questioned the state of law and order in the nation’s capital.

After two brothers were attacked by a man from a different group when they were outside the house getting ice cream, police claimed, security has been strengthened in Delhi’s Brijpuri neighborhood.

The (Rahul) man was stabbed in the lower abdomen by Zaid after he grabbed a knife out of his pocket. When Sonu attempted to step in, he also suffered damage to both hands.

Zaid escaped and hid behind a counter at a tent house store as a mob gathered. Rahul pursued Zaid while suffering from severe abdominal haemorrhage before losing consciousness. Instantaneously, onlookers opened the tent-house shop’s shutter, revealing Zaid’s cover.

Witnesses immediately contacted the police, but before they could arrive, Zaid’s friends and family arrived, forced open the shutter, and took off with him. Zaid is being sought after by police who have filed a case of attempted murder. As a preventative step due to the tension in the neighborhood, there is a significant police deployment.

While Sonu was treated at the hospital and released, Rahul is reportedly in severe condition. To prevent any adverse incident, the relevant authorities have arranged paramilitary forces in the region.

A senior police official revealed the details, saying that on Friday night about ten o’clock, Rahul (20) and his cousin Sonu (19), both residents of D Block in Brijpuri, went for ice cream after dinner near Shibban School, Gali No. 7 in Brijpuri.

“Rahul and a man named Mohammad Zaid (20), who lives in the same neighborhood, got into a fight over a trivial matter. Rahul received a lower abdomen stab from Zaid. Sonu also suffered arm injuries, according to the official.

The official further stated, “A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Dayalpur police station.” a manhunt has been launched to capture Zaid, who is on the run.”
