Unbearable Heat Claims 14 Lives at Ballia Hospital in UP, Ongoing Investigation Uncovers Truth”

In the course of one day on Sunday, the Ballia district hospital reported 178 admissions and at least 14 new deaths related to the heat wave in Uttar Pradesh. Between June 15 and June 18, the death toll rose to 68, and Lucknow authorities are looking into why this happened.

Ravindra Kumar, the district magistrate, stated on Sunday that there is currently no “solid evidence” connecting the deaths to the high temperatures. The state government fired Dr. Diwakar Singh from his position as chief medical superintendent of the district hospital on Saturday because he “made an irresponsible statement on deaths caused by heat wave without having proper information.”

On June 15, at least 154 patients were admitted to the hospital, and 23 of them passed away. Twenty persons died out of the 137 patients brought to the hospital on June 16. On June 17, 11 hospital deaths were reported, while on June 18, 178 new patients were admitted and 14 fatalities were reported by hospital officials.

According to Ballia Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jayant Kumar, out of the 54 fatalities at the time of his statement, “40% of the patients had fever, while 60% were suffering from other diseases.”

“Only in Ballia have such complaints been made; in neighboring districts, none have. Additionally, fever and loss of consciousness are the first symptoms that a patient in a heat wave complains about. The patient in this instance, however, initially reported chest pain, followed by complaints of breathing issues and fever. Additionally, despite the summer, the fever is not as high as it should be, he said.

RAW chief Ravi Sinha is appointed by the government

On Monday, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointment of veteran IPS officer Ravi Sinha for a two-year term as Chief of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India’s external intelligence agency.

Samant Goel will be replaced after his contract expires on June 30 by the 1988 batch officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, who is now the Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat.

The nomination of Sinha as Secretary, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), for a two-year term, was approved by the Cabinet’s Appointments Committee, according to the order. Samant Kumar Goel, whose term ends on June 30, 2023, is replaced by Sinha. For tenure of two years from the date of taking charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the government notification from the Personnel department stated, “For tenure of two years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”

The appointment of Shri Ravi Sinha, IPS (CG:88), PSO, Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat (SR) as Secretary, Research & Analysis Wing in place of Shri Samant K Kurnar Goel, IPS (PB:84) upon expiration of his term on June 30, 2023, was authorized by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, according to the ACC notification.

Dhananjaya Bharadwaj says, “Even worse, my car got damaged while getting towed, and I had to spend over Rs 1 lakh to get the car repaired as I could not claim insurance.”

Additionally, it offers specialized insurance plans to protect automobiles against harm to third parties or other damages. With the assistance of Lucknow Nagar Nigam and the Hazratganj Trader Association, it introduced the first FASTag-enabled smart parking system for the Uttar Pradesh government in February 2023.

A Russian official has revealed Pakistan’s diplomatic blunder and showed how the country willfully fibbed in reaching an agreement with Moscow for purchasing Russian crude oil at a reduced rate. The largest untruth was exposed by Nikolai Shulginov, the minister of energy for Russia, who said the pricing for Pakistan had not been lowered. A cargo of 45,000 tons of Russian crude oil landed in Pakistan just over two days prior to this. The minister himself tweeted false information regarding the crude oil while praising the shipment as “the biggest promise” of the government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.  

On January 11, the Pakistani PM tweeted, “I have kept another of my national commitments. Pleased to announce that the first discounted cargo of Russian crude oil has reached Pakistan and will begin discharging oil tomorrow.. Today is a day of transformation. We are progressing steadily in the direction of wealth, economic growth, and energy affordability and security.”

The Pakistani PM applauded his team for brokering an agreement that had never happened, proclaiming the commencement of a new Pakistan-Russian partnership. Pakistan-Russia collaboration begins with the first Russian crude oil supply.

The Pakistani PM wrote on Twitter, “I applaud everyone who stuck with this national endeavor and helped make the promise of importing Russian crude oil a reality.”

 The Russian energy minister, however, made it clear that none of Sharif’s statements were true and that no deals had been struck as stated by Islamabad.

A Russian state media said on the sidelines of an international economic conference in St. Petersburg: “Oil shipments to Pakistan have started. There is no particular discount; for Pakistan, it is the same as for other purchasers.”

He agreed, nevertheless, that Chinese currency was used to pay for the Russian crude oil. The Russian minister claimed that although the barter system was discussed, no decisions had yet been taken. We agreed that the money would be transferred in the currencies of friendly nations, according to Shulginov. 

Remember that Pakistan has been claiming to have struck a major agreement with Russia in order to buy at least 1 lakh tonnes of Russian crude oil. In actuality, utilizing its diplomatic lobby, Pakistan’s foreign minister Bilawal Bhutoo asserted that the deal had been reached. But, the Russian energy minister’s words debunked all claims.

Shulginov said liquefied natural gas rates for Pakistan were still being negotiated between the two countries. He concluded, “Long-term contracts are being discussed, but for now, we are talking about spot supply, and spot gas prices are high.”
