Nasser Hussain Is Perplexed To See Veteran Indian Spinner Struggling In England In 1st Test

0

Former England captain Nasser Hussain expressed his astonishment at Ravindra Jadeja’s inability to adapt his bowling strategy during the first Test between India and England at Headingley. Hussain believes the 36-year-old Indian spinner has “plenty to ponder” before the second Test commences on Wednesday, July 2, in Edgbaston.

Despite bowling in conditions seemingly favorable to his style, Jadeja managed to secure only one wicket throughout the Test. This performance stood in stark contrast to England’s young off-spinner Shoaib Bashir, who, despite facing considerable criticism, claimed three wickets in the match.

In his column for the Daily Mail, Nasser Hussain analyzed how England opener Ben Duckett effectively countered Jadeja, while captain Ben Stokes appeared to struggle. However, Hussain primarily critiqued Jadeja for not exploiting the available rough patches on the pitch, suggesting that the experienced Indian spinner might still be grappling with a “sub-continent hangover”.

“There is plenty for Jadeja to ponder as well,” Hussain wrote. “I could not believe how long it took him to change the way he bowled on the final day at Headingley. The rough wasn’t extensive to the left-hander, but it was fairly wide and full and yet Jadeja bowled relatively straight to Duckett. He kept missing the rough.”

Hopefully Ravindra Jadeja will perform better in the second test with both bat and ball.

Fatima Sana Shaikh Opens Up On Her Bond With Aamir Khan’s Daughter Ira Khan

Fatima Sana Shaikh’s close relationship with Ira Khan is well-known, with numerous photos from Ira’s wedding recently circulating on social media. In an interview, Fatima opened up about her admiration for Aamir Khan’s daughter, revealing that she even sought Ira’s guidance when looking for therapy. “I did ask Ira for recommendations when I wanted to seek therapy. I reached out to others too because I’ve a lot of friends who seek therapy,” Fatima shared.

Praising Ira, Fatima described her as an exceptional individual: “Ira is an incredible girl. She’s very intelligent and talented. She has a very big heart and I just love her. She’s a great girl. She’s very giving.” For the Dangal actress, the concept of sisterhood holds immense importance. Her strong friendships with co-stars like Sanya Malhotra, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Dia Mirza Rekhi are also widely recognized. “These women have added so much to my life. I enjoy such relationships,” she expressed.

Fatima also strongly refuted the common misconception that two women actors cannot get along. “Yeh toh nonsense hai! Isme gender ka kuch lena dena hai hi nahi. It doesn’t matter what your gender is. It all depends on how confident and self-assured you’re as a person. If you’re insecure, you’re insecure. If you’re insecure, you wouldn’t enjoy working with any co-actor because you would constantly be fighting to create your own space,” she asserted, emphasizing that personal insecurity, not gender, dictates professional relationships.

Great going girls!

National Doctors’ Day 2025: Importance, History & How India Celebrates It

0

Every year on July 1st, India observes National Doctors’ Day—a heartfelt tribute to the tireless efforts, dedication, and sacrifices of doctors across the country. In 2025, this observance continues to shine a light on the healthcare professionals who work selflessly to save lives and improve our well-being.

Why Is Doctors’ Day Important?

Doctors are the backbone of any healthcare system. From managing day-to-day illnesses to battling life-threatening diseases, their role is critical in ensuring a healthy society. The COVID-19 pandemic reminded us just how vital and brave medical professionals are. Doctors’ Day serves as a reminder to acknowledge their compassion, dedication, and commitment to patient care.

This Day is not just about recognition—it’s a call to respect and support the medical fraternity that works under immense pressure while putting patient care first.

History of National Doctors’ Day in India

National Doctors’ Day in India is celebrated in honor of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a legendary physician, educator, freedom fighter, and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal. Remarkably, Dr. Roy was born and passed away on July 1st, making the date even more significant.

In 1991, the Government of India officially designated this Day to commemorate his legacy. Dr. B.C. Roy was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, for his contributions to medicine and public service.

How India Celebrates Doctors’ Day

Across India, hospitals, medical institutions, and organizations observe this Day with various events such as:

  • Felicitation ceremonies honoring distinguished doctors
  • Health camps and free check-up drives for the community
  • Seminars and awareness programs on medical advancements
  • Thank-you campaigns on social media and in schools

Patients and families often express gratitude by sending flowers, messages, or small tokens of appreciation to their doctors.

As we mark Doctors’ Day 2025, let’s take a moment to thank the medical professionals who dedicate their lives to keeping us healthy. Whether it’s a lifesaving surgery or a reassuring word, their service is invaluable. Let’s honor them not just today but every Day.

Panchayat 4: Rinki Aka Saanvikaa Talks About Her Kissing Scene With Jitendra Aka Sachiv Ji

The delightful on-screen chemistry between Saanvika and Jitendra Kumar is a highlight of Panchayat, the acclaimed rural drama that has captivated audiences through multiple seasons. However, a recent revelation from behind the scenes of Panchayat Season 4 sheds light on a significant script alteration driven by Saanvika’s personal decision: she declined a kissing scene with Jitendra Kumar.

In an interview, Saanvika, who portrays Rinki in the popular TVF series, disclosed that a kiss between her character and Jitendra Kumar’s Sachiv ji was initially part of the script. “In the beginning, no one said anything when the narration was done. But then director Akshat talked to me. He told that in this season we have inserted a scene where Sachiv ji and Rinki will kiss. Earlier the scene was different. Both of them are in the car, she falls down and then they kiss,” she recalled.

Saanvika explained that she took time to consider the request, weighing her personal comfort against Panchayat’s strong appeal to family audiences. “So I said give me two days to think whether I am comfortable doing it or not. Then I thought that ‘Panchayat’ has all kinds of audiences, but mostly family people. I was worried about how he would react, and I was also not comfortable. So I refused at that time. But when we were shooting, they removed that scene, but they inserted the tank scene.”

Despite the creators’ assurances that the scene would be handled tastefully, Saanvika admitted that filming still felt awkward. She shared, “They said that we will not shoot it in a vulgar way. But when we were shooting, it felt awkward. I became very uncomfortable, but Jeetu (Jitendra Kumar) is a very nice person. He makes you feel comfortable.”

People may have not liked the kissing scene, what do you say?

Naseeruddin Shah Deletes FB Post Supporting Diljit Dosanjh After Backlash

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah recently found himself in the midst of a social media stir after deleting a Facebook post in which he defended Diljit Dosanjh. Dosanjh had faced criticism for his upcoming film, Sardaar Ji 3, due to the casting of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in the third installment of the popular franchise. While Shah’s original post, now removed without explanation, clarified that casting decisions were not Diljit’s responsibility, it also urged the public not to hold actors accountable for choices made by producers or studios.

Beyond the specific controversy, Shah’s deleted post also addressed the broader, often strained, relationship between India and Pakistan. He expressed concern over attempts to restrict personal or artistic exchanges between the two nations, emphasizing the importance of keeping art and cinema separate from political tensions.

On Monday, before its deletion, Naseeruddin Shah’s social media post unequivocally supported Diljit Dosanjh. He wrote, “I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT. The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they’ve got it at last. He was not responsible for the casting of the film, the director was. But no one knows who he is whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned. What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan. I have close relatives and some dear friends there and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever i feel like it.” He concluded his defiant statement with, “And my response to those who will say “Go to Pakistan” is “GO TO KAILASA”.”

Despite the backlash and the subsequent deletion of Shah’s supportive post, Diljit Dosanjh has remained confident about his decision to release Sardaar Ji 3 worldwide, even offering fans a glimpse into its reception in Pakistan.

Mark Wood Makes Big Prediction About Jasprit Bumrah Playing 2nd & 3rd Test Matches

0

Despite India’s cautious approach to managing Jasprit Bumrah’s workload, England pacer Mark Wood firmly believes the star bowler will feature in both the second Test at Edgbaston and the third at Lord’s in the ongoing Anderson-Trophy series. Wood, who is currently sidelined with an injury and not expected to return before the fifth Test, suggests Bumrah’s presence is essential for India to bounce back from their 1-0 deficit after the first match at Headingley. Furthermore, Wood reckons Bumrah wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity to have his name etched on the Lord’s honors board.

Indian team management, including chief selector Ajit Agarkar, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and captain Shubman Gill, had previously indicated that Bumrah would be rested for some matches to prevent injury, limiting him to a maximum of three Tests in the series. While assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate confirmed Bumrah’s availability on Monday, he noted that a final decision on his inclusion in the playing XI for Wednesday’s match was yet to be made.

“He’s going to play them two, I am telling you,” Wood confidently told Michael Atherton during a Sky Sports show. “I think he’ll play them both… He’s got to because they can’t afford to go 2-0 down, so you want your best bowler. There’s no way he’s saying I am not playing at Lord’s. I think he’ll want to play both games. Let’s just say India win the next one and it’s 1-1, I still think they’ll want him to make the difference to get them ahead. Every overseas bowler wants to get on that board and he’ll be the same,” Wood elaborated, emphasizing the strategic importance and personal ambition that he believes will drive Jasprit Bumrah’s participation.

Do you agree with Mark Wood?

Neeraj Chopra, India’s double-Olympic medalist in javelin, recently sparked an intriguing revelation during an interview with JioStar, the official broadcaster of the Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025.

When asked to name a cricketer who might excel in javelin, Chopra pointed to former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee. “I have heard that Brett Lee was a javelin thrower. I think he could throw the javelin well, especially when he was in his peak years,” Chopra stated.

Neeraj Chopra’s comments quickly reached Brett Lee, who took to X to confirm the surprising tidbit about his past. Lee admitted to his early javelin pursuits but humbly clarified his skill level compared to the Olympic champion. “I did throw the javelin back in my schooling days, but nowhere near what Neeraj does and continues to do,” he wrote. Lee also shed light on why he didn’t pursue javelin professionally, noting the significant physical toll it takes. “Very tough on the elbow,” he explained.

Despite not continuing with the sport, Lee expressed his admiration for Chopra’s achievements, adding, “I have, however, admired what this fine athlete can do and wish him well.”

Here is Brett Lee’s response:

Well, we would like to see Brett Lee throwing javelin, what about you?
