“Sahi Track….,” Prithvi Shaw Reveals The Advice He Got From Sachin Tendulkar

0

Once hailed as the next major talent in international cricket after becoming India’s youngest Test debut centurion in October 2018, Prithvi Shaw’s career hasn’t quite followed the trajectory many expected. The Mumbai right-hander hasn’t represented India since July 2021 and even went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction last year, having made headlines for various off-field issues in recent years.

Despite the setbacks, Shaw recently shared some powerful advice he received from cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar. According to Shaw, Tendulkar is among the select few who have reached out to him with valuable guidance.

“Sachin sir knows about my journey. Arjun and I have been friends since we were 8-9 years old. We’ve played together and grown up together. Sir was also there sometimes. I had a word with him a little while ago too. Hardly 2 months ago. He was practicing at the MIG. And I was there too. I spoke to him then too. When things go awry and you drift away, you need that mentor, who can light a spark in you. He still believes in me. He said, ‘Prithvi, I still believe in you, and I’ll continue to do so.’ Because he has seen me grow up. Even today, he tells me, ‘Sahi track pe aa ja, jaise pehle tha’ (Come back on the same track as earlier). Everything is possible in the next 13-14 years. So he believes in me, and that means a lot,” Shaw recounted to a news channel.

Tendulkar’s continued faith offers a beacon of hope for Shaw, emphasizing the impact a mentor’s belief can have on a young athlete navigating challenges.

I Know What….: Vishnu Manchu Reacts To Prabhas’ Absence From Kannappa Pre-Release Event

Vishnu Manchu’s ambitious mythological film, Kannappa, is poised for its highly anticipated release tomorrow, with excitement building, significantly fueled by the presence of superstar Prabhas.

Prabhas’s crucial role in this devotional epic has generated considerable buzz across the Telugu states. However, his absence from the film’s pre-release event last week caught attention and led to online speculation.

Addressing the matter at a pre-release press meet held earlier today, Vishnu clarified the situation. “My brother Prabhas is comfortable with certain things, but there are some aspects that make him feel uncomfortable,” he stated. “I’m truly grateful to him for being a part of my film. I know what makes Prabhas feel uneasy, and I avoid asking him about such things.”

Vishnu further explained that Prabhas had initially planned to send a video message for the event, but this was canceled due to him not feeling well at the time. “Even the shoot was called off. So I didn’t want to trouble him further,” Vishnu added, expressing his solidarity with his co-star.

Kannappa has released today, will you go and watch it in cinemas?

Jasprit Bumrah To Sit Out In 2nd Test For Workload Management, This Youngster Will Replace Him

0

Star Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, aged 31, is set to miss the second Test of the ongoing five-match series against England in Birmingham. This decision, as reported by a news channel on Thursday, June 25, citing a BCCI source, is a measure of workload management. Bumrah’s significant contributions in the Leeds Test saw him bowl 24.4 overs in the first innings and an additional 19 overs in the second.

While Bumrah will not feature in Birmingham, he is expected to return for the third Test against England, scheduled at Lord’s in London from July 10 to 14. In his place, left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh is the likely candidate to join the playing XI for the Edgbaston Test. Arshdeep, who was crowned the ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year in 2024, is yet to make his red-ball debut for India, having received his maiden Test call-up for this very series.

Further team changes are anticipated, with all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy reportedly stepping in for Shardul Thakur. Thakur’s performance in the first Test was underwhelming; he contributed little with the bat and bowled only six overs in the first innings. Although he managed to claim two wickets in two balls during the second innings on Tuesday, it seemingly wasn’t enough to secure his spot.

The decision to rest Jasprit Bumrah comes despite former India batter and captain Sunil Gavaskar’s suggestion on Sony Sports that India should consider playing him in all five Tests. However, India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir dismissed this idea during the post-match conference on Tuesday, June 24, stating that the team is “more concerned about his workload”.

Ex-Indian Spinner Asks Bumrah To Take Rest After Making India Win 2nd Test

0

India’s tour of England has begun with a mix of triumphs and disappointments. While Indian batters collectively amassed five centuries and Jasprit Bumrah delivered a five-wicket haul, the team ultimately suffered a series-opening defeat in Leeds.

Despite these brilliant individual performances, the final outcome wasn’t in their favor, largely due to a litany of errors. Shubman Gill impressed with his batting on his captaincy debut, yet his on-field tactics drew scrutiny. Fielding mishaps were prominent, with a staggering eight catches dropped. Although Bumrah continued to lead the pace attack with distinction, he received minimal support from his fellow bowlers.

Bumrah bowled nearly 45 overs across both innings, making him the second-most utilized Indian bowler in the match. This workload once again exposed the team’s significant reliance on his exceptional talent. Given that the 31-year-old is expected to participate in three of the five Tests during the tour, speculation has arisen about the possibility of resting him for the second match in Edgbaston to manage his workload.

However, former spinner Ravichandran Ashwin disagrees with the notion of giving his former teammate a break, especially with India trailing 0-1 in the series. In fact, the legendary spinner advises against making numerous changes to the team.

“First of all, after playing such a good Test, I’m not going to make three changes in the team. Considering we are 1-0 down, I would ask Jasprit Bumrah to play the second Test, try and get even in the series and then he can take a break. There’s a considerable break between the 3rd and 4th Test, he can take rest then. I will just bring Kuldeep (Yadav) in and make no other changes,” Ashwin stated on his YouTube channel.

What do you think, will Bumrah play 2nd test match?

Amitabh Bachchan’s Cybercrime Caller Tune Will Be Discontinued From Today

Beginning Thursday, the pre-recorded caller tune featuring Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s voice, which served to caution citizens about cybercrime and fraud, will no longer be active. The government has made the decision to withdraw this message, which played each time a phone user initiated a call, effective today, as reported by a leading news channel.

According to the news outlet, citing a source, the message was part of a Central government campaign aimed at disseminating information about the increasing number of cyber fraud cases. Its withdrawal comes as the campaign has concluded.

Amitabh Bachchan had lent his voice to this initiative, designed to raise public awareness about cybercrime and to educate individuals on digital safety. The caller tune, played before calls connected, featured Bachchan advising listeners on common cyber threats such as phishing, various online scams, and identity theft.

“The campaign has come to an end, and therefore, the caller tune will be removed from today,” a source informed the news outlet.

Reports suggest that this decision also came after numerous users voiced their frustration, particularly in urgent situations where the mandatory caller tune caused delays in immediate call connection.

The last few years have been particularly challenging for Prithvi Shaw, a cricketer once touted as the future of Indian cricket. Recent developments saw him dropped from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad, and he also found no bidders in the IPL 2025 auction.

Amid swirling rumors about his fitness and lifestyle, Shaw has drawn considerable criticism from both fans and experts. Now, the 25-year-old has finally addressed his struggles in an interview, admitting that he became distracted from his primary focus: cricket.

“I have taken some wrong decisions in life. I feel that I started giving less time to cricket. I used to spend almost half of my day at the ground till 2023. But after that, I started giving importance to the wrong things. I made some wrong friends. At that time, I was at the top and this is the time when you attract a lot of friends. I got off-track and my time at the ground went down from 8 hours to just 4 hours,” Prithvi revealed.

Prithvi Shaw also spoke about a difficult personal period following the death of his grandfather. “There are a lot of things. It’s not just that. I had a family problem. My grandfather had passed away. He was very dear to me. There are a lot of things that I can’t tell you. But I can feel it.” He further added, “I admit my mistakes. But my dad has always supported me. No matter how bad my time was. He has seen good and bad.”

In a recent move signaling a potential fresh start, Prithvi has opted to leave Mumbai and will now play for a different team in the Ranji Trophy, having already received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association.

Recently, a significant update regarding Season 5 emerged from writer Chandan Kumar, who confirmed that both the direction and script are already prepared.

In an interview, Chandan Kumar acknowledged the rising expectations that accompany each new season, stating, “The more seasons we do, the more expectations rise amongst fans. We don’t do anything random. We keep things interconnected.”

Kumar further revealed their proactive approach, explaining, “The feedback was almost similar to what we had anticipated. Ex-Indian Coach Ravi Shastri Feels Headingley Defeat Is A Tough Pill To….

0

Former Team India head coach and celebrated cricketer Ravi Shastri feels India’s five-wicket defeat to England in the opening Test at Headingley is an incredibly “tough pill to swallow.” This match marked the dawn of a new era for India under the guidance of head coach Gautam Gambhir, as they stepped onto the field without their batting stalwarts, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Shubman Gill embraced the captaincy, leading India into this fresh chapter, which began with the challenging Test at Headingley.

The initial days of the opening Test offered considerable promise. Even without their key batsmen, India managed to dominate England for a significant four-day period. However, the momentum dramatically shifted against India at a crucial juncture, primarily due to missed catching opportunities and two collapses by the tail-enders. England, renowned for their successful chases, capitalised on these missteps, achieving a 371-run target to secure a 1-0 lead in the series.

Reflecting on the outcome, Ravi Shastri shared his perspective on Sky Sports, stating, “This will be a tough pill for India to swallow. You don’t get in positions like this very often, and blow it from there. They had a chance to take England out of the contest and dictate terms. They have to learn and they need more bottle from the tail, for them to be stubborn and put a price tag on their wicket.”

Shastri is damn correct, isn’t he?

Rahul Bose Admits He Was A “Nikamma”, His Mother Slapped Him Daily For 5 Yrs

Actor Rahul Bose recently shared insights into his upbringing, revealing a household that significantly defied conventional gender norms. He recounted how his father was notably more focused on appearances and clothing, while his mother adopted a more career-oriented approach, actively pushing him towards sports.

Bose openly admitted to being a “useless” child, suggesting that his mother’s rigorous parenting played a crucial role in shaping the person he is today.

In a conversation with ANI, Rahul Bose explained, “I was woke way before the word came up because my mother never cooked, my father cooked. My mother slapped me every day for 5 years. I was such a nikamma (useless) that it only helped me. And you can’t say that these days, but believe me, I was such a nikamma those days that it only helped. She forced me to play Rugby and box.”

Bose further elaborated on his distinct childhood experiences, stating, “I boxed in school, and my father was appalled. He wanted me to wear a cap so that I wouldn’t get too dark in the sun. He wanted me to play cricket and be a gentleman. He saw me playing rugby and never looked at the field when he would walk in… I am the product of a father who would ask what we should wear to a wedding and a mother who asked what I should do with my career. This is exactly opposite.”

His candid reflection underscores how these contrasting influences from his parents forged his unique identity.
