Kumble Slams Rohit & His Army, Terms Them As ‘Pretty Ordinary’ After 1st Test Defeat

0

The reactions to India’s defeat in the first test match against England have started coming out as this win is certainly one of the biggest for England since the time they have adopted the Bazball technique.

Many former cricketers of the world were of the opinion that Bazball will work well in those conditions in which pitches support pacers but it won’t work on turning pitches but England has answered all the doubts in a good manner.

The former Indian cricketer and former head coach of the Indian cricket team, Anil Kumble was quite critical of the Indian team and he called Rohit Sharma and his team pretty ordinary. While speaking to the broadcasters, Anil Kumble stated, “England were brilliant over the last two days. India were pretty ordinary. In the field, you could see that heads were dropping down while fielding.”

In Anil Kumble’s opinion, Ravindra Jadeja’s run-out was the turning point of the match and he also praised Tom Hartley, the England cricketer who made his debut with this test match. Kumble said, “India could certainly have been more positive in their batting approach in the second innings. Once Rohit Sharma got out and Ravindra Jadeja was run out, the course of the match changed. Credit to England (for) the way they batted (and) the way they came and bowled. I mean Tom Hartley, (a) debutant, (his) first ball (was) hit for a six and then the first five overs he was going at about seven runs an over.”

Anil Kumble concluded by saying, “To come back and bat really well, take two wickets (one) in the first innings and seven in the second and win the match for England was absolutely fantastic. England have done exceptionally well.”

The second test match will start from 2 Feb at Visakhapatnam.

Can target therapy cure liver cancer? Know what research says

0

Altering cell metabolic programming prevents liver cancer, according to CIMAP, CSIR-CDRI, and CBMR research. Hepatocyte carcinoma development altered liver shape, enzyme levels, and metabolic pathways, according to the Elsevier study.

Recent research show that targeting cell metabolic programming helps prevent liver cancer, a growing health issue often diagnosed late.

The six-year study was conducted by scientists from CIMAP, CSIR-CDRI, and CBMR, SGPGIMS, Lucknow.

Madhav Nilakanth Mugale, a CDRI scientist, found that cancer cells change metabolic programming, which can be exploited to diagnose and prevent cancer.

The Elsevier study also illuminates the metabolic riddles of hepatocyte carcinoma (HCC), a difficult liver malignancy.

In addition to understanding HCC, the finding opens doors for targeted therapy.

The study found decreased body weight, elevated blood enzyme levels, and liver architectural changes during HCC progression using specific staining and microscopy.

“Our team used Immunohistochemistry (IHC) to identify elevated markers in the cancerous liver, revealing its increased cancer-causing potential. According to Mugale, the STAT3-NFKB signaling pathway affects the cell’s metabolism, which drives mitochondrial dysfunction and reduces cell death.

He added Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) is used to analyze liver and blood cell metabolism in a developing stage.

Advanced stages of HCC show aberrant cell cycle modifications, including energy synthesis and use, such as liver tissue succinate buildup, ketones breakdown, and amino acid processing abnormalities.

These metabolic changes in cells strongly correlated with liver cancer progression, suggesting they may be early warning signs.

“These findings bring hope for more effective liver cancer interventions,” said CDRI director Radha Rangarajan.

Conclusion

The Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, CSIR-CDRI, and Centre of Biomedical Research revealed that modifying cell metabolic programming can prevent liver cancer. The Elsevier study discovered that cancer cells modify metabolic programming, which can be utilized to diagnose and prevent cancer. The study also found lower body weight, increased enzyme levels, and aberrant cell cycle modifications in the liver during hepatocyte carcinoma (HCC) progression. These findings may help detect liver cancer early and improve treatment.

BJP Accuses Karnataka Congress of Anti-Hindu Actions Over Hanuman Flag Incident

0

The removal of the Hanuman flag caused political tension and protests in Keragodu village, Mandya, Karnataka. On Monday, however, police action brought the situation under control.

When authorities pulled a saffron flag with Lord Hanuman’s picture from a 108-foot flag post on Sunday, the issue took a different turn.

A lot of security has been put in place to stop any unfortunate incidents from happening in and around the hamlet because of the ongoing protests by members of the Bajrang Dal, the BJP, the JD(S), and other political parties.

The demonstrators called for the raising of the “Hanuman dhwaja” once more.

As a show of protest, the demonstrators, wearing saffron flags, started marching to the Mandya city district headquarters, where the Deputy Commissioner’s office is located. According to reports, JD(S) leader and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy is expected to join the group.

Tentative conditions have led to the imposition of restrictions in the village under Section 144.

WHAT DATE DID THE ISSUE APPEAR?

The ‘Hanuman Dhwaja’ was raised atop a 108-foot flag post by a group of men last week, causing the disturbance.

Despite the village panchayat’s approval for the flagpole’s installation, the authorities were obliged to request the flag’s removal due to objections regarding the Hanuman flag.

The peasants banded together and stuck to their positions. They even charged that some people were attempting to politicize the situation.

CHANGE OF THE FACTS

The atmosphere was further heightened on Saturday when stores were closed in protest.

The residents gathered and screamed “Go Back” as Gram Panchayat officials came to the village to remove the flag.

HOW DID IT TURN INTO A “BJP VS. CONGRESS” ISSUE?

The political element entered the picture when local Congress MLA Ravi Kumar’s banners were vandalized during the demonstrations.

Many police officers had been posted in the area after the disturbances.

Protesting at all of the state’s district offices, BJP officials and members are denouncing the Congress-led government’s “anti-Hindu policy” and charging it with “insulting” the national flag.

The Jayanagara MLA C K Ramamurthy led the saffron party in organizing a demonstration at Bengaluru’s Mysuru Bank Circle. The police arrested them and took them away. According to the police, no authorization was given to hold a protest there.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed the worry that the Tricolour was being flown in place of a “bhagwa dhwaja,” or saffron flag, in the meanwhile.

“It is incorrect. Siddaramaiah was cited as stating, “I have requested that the national flag be hoisted by the authorities.”

Minister N Cheluvarayaswamy, who is in charge of the district, addressed the situation and stated that permission was first requested in order to raise the tricolor on Republic Day.

Installation of CCTV and Lathi-Charge

To break up the throng and get things under control on Sunday, police had to use a limited amount of lathi-charge. The Tricolour was raised on the flag pole by the administration and police in place of the Hanuman flag.

According to government sources, the area surrounding the flag post has been barricaded, and CCTV cameras have been deployed to keep an eye on the situation and stop any wrongdoing with the flag.

According to officials, the vast majority of the businesses remained closed in accordance with the villagers’ and activists’ calls for a shutdown.

Bobby Deol Is All Praises For Kanguva Co-Star Suriya, Counts His Qualities

The Indian actor Bobby Deol celebrated his birthday recently and on the same day, the makers of the upcoming Tamil movie, Kanguva shared the first look poster of Bobby Deol’s character in the film. The name of this character is Udhiran and it matches with Kalakeya, the villain in Baahubali: The Beginning.

Bobby Deol certainly looks powerful and ruthless as Udhiran and recently he had a conversation with mediapersons in which he praised his Kanguva co-star Suriya whole-heartedly. Bobby Deol said, “Working with Suriya, who was so humble and down to earth, itna kamaal ka actor hai na woh, stunts khud karta hai and just loved being on that set. Khatam ho gayi hai film, ajaeygi issi saal, date pakka malum nahi hai mujhe lekin, that’s my next release.” (He performs his own stunts and I just loved being on that set. The shooting has been completed, and it will be released this year. I don’t know the exact date yet, but that’s my next release).

Bobby Deol is already enjoying the success of Animal in which he is getting appreciated a lot despite having a limited screen time. Talking about his successful phase, he said, “I am very nervous right now about what I will do next because I don’t understand what I did in Animal that I’m getting so much love. Definitely, I will never give up, hard work is very essential for every person, every actor, whether they are getting work or not. They all need to work hard, be focused and be humble.”

Disha Patani also plays an important role in Kanguva and as per reports, Bobby Deol will be seen in some other south projects as well.

Virat Kohli Has Never Been To NCA: Rohit Sharma Asks Players To Learn From Kohli

0

The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is certainly one of the greatest of all times and the Indian team must have felt his absence as they lost the first test match against England by 28 runs. The first match of the five-match test series was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad and Ollie Pope was the Player of the Match as he played a superb knock of 196 runs and helped his team win the match.

Virat Kohli has pulled out from the first two test matches citing personal reasons. Recently, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had a chat with Dinesh Karthik and Hitman was full of praises for King Kohli, especially about his fitness and attitude.

The Indian skipper stated, “Virat Kohli has never been to NCA in his entire career. I would say that all the younger players should look up to the passion that he has. Leave alone how he plays the cover drive, flick, cut but first things first you have to understand what is the quality of the players that makes him where he is today.”

He further lauded the former skipper by stating, “I have watched Kohli enough. He can easily be satisfied with what he has achieved. He can say that I will take it easy in these 2-3 series, I will come later, but he is always there for the team.”

Rohit Sharma further added, “That mindset of being hungry and not complacent cannot be taught. You have to learn that from by looking at the others. It has to come from within. I cannot teach you that. That is the first thing that I would say rather than looking at Virat Kohli or others technically. You have to stay hungry all the time, bring the passion and the pride to everything, being out there in the sun, playing for the team and getting the job done. This is what I want to the guys to have first.”

Well, Virat Kohli is certainly the best.

Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh Decked in Snow, IMD Points to More Snowfall in These Designated Spots

0

Both residents and visitors to Kashmir are happy with the recent snowfall. The tourism sector plays a major role in the state’s economy, and the arrival of snow after a prolonged drought is anticipated to draw visitors to the shimmering silver valley.

Due to the lack of significant snowfall over the past few months, Kashmir’s tourism sector has been struggling. Typically, snow falls during “Chilla-i-Kalan,” a hard 40-day winter season that finishes on January 31. But this year, the time passed with barely a hint of snow in the final moments.

Now, the Drass area of Ladakh and the Zojilla Axis on the Srinagar-Leh Highway have both received new snowfall. The minimum temperature recorded in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, was 3.6 degrees Celsius. The temperature in other parts of the region was reported at minus 0.7 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam, 2.0 degrees Celsius in Qazigund, 0.5 degrees Celsius in Kokernag, and 1.7 degrees Celsius in Kupwara. Gulmarg was the only place in the valley to have a nighttime low below freezing, with a reading of minus 3.2 degrees Celsius.

Numerous locations within the Union Territory could see light to moderate rain or snow, according to forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Over the next two days, a number of locations, including Kupwara, Bandipora, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Shopian, Kulgam, and Anantnag districts, are predicted to have significant snowfall. The administration has sent out warnings to residents and visitors going to Sonamarg and Gulmarg.

In addition, the weather service has issued orange and yellow alerts for other Northern Indian states due to unusually heavy rainfall and strong cold waves. A period of precipitation is expected to affect the Western Himalayan region from January 29 to February 3, with the potential for significant flooding on January 30 and 31.

Bigg Boss 17: Munawar Faruqui Strongly Reacts To Haters On ‘Fixed Winner’ Controversy

The reality show, Bigg Boss 17 came to an end yesterday with Munawar Faruqui emerging as the winner; he defeated Ankita Lokhande, Mannara Chopra, Abhishek Kumar and Arun Mashetty for lifting the trophy.

However, after his win, many are alleging that Munawar Faruqui didn’t deserve to win and he is a fixed winner. In an interview, Munawar Faruqui reacted to these allegations of being a fixed winner and said,  “Yaar fixed winner ko itna sab go through karna pade toh it can’t be a fixed winner. If one has to go through so much scrutiny as a supposed fixed winner, then it can’t truly be a fixed winner. If I had been a fixed winner, I would have gotten everything on a platter. Pura season gawah hai (The whole season is the proof) that I’ve got nothing on a platter, I’ve worked hard and a lot.”

He further added, “My answer to people who are calling me a fixed winner is, ‘Just sit and watch the entire season, and you will realize that it wasn’t fixed. Having said that, people can have that feeling because, when you have a strong fan base and you do such reality shows, a lot of things are at stake and you lose a few things.

To win things, you give them your best. Mujhe lagta hai ye pyaar hai logon ka (I think I won because of people’s love), and people who are calling me a fixed winner can’t change their opinion. Maybe before going to Bigg Boss, I would have wanted to change perceptions, but now I feel I can’t change everyone.”

What do you think? Is Munawar a fixed winner?
