Alzheimer’s in Your 20s? What You Should Know About Early-Onset Symptoms

0

When we think of Alzheimer’s disease, we usually imagine older adults in their 60s or beyond. However, a rare condition known as early-onset Alzheimer’s can affect people as young as their 20s or 30s. Although highly uncommon, being informed about the symptoms and risk factors is crucial for early recognition and care.

What Is Early-Onset Alzheimer’s?

Early-onset Alzheimer’s disease refers to cases diagnosed before the age of 65. While most people with Alzheimer’s are older, early-onset cases account for about 5% to 10% of all Alzheimer’s diagnoses. It can strike individuals in their 40s and even, in rare cases, as early as their 20s.

This condition is usually linked to genetic mutations that run in families. In such cases, it’s referred to as familial Alzheimer’s disease (FAD). If a parent carries one of these rare genes, there’s a 50% chance the child may inherit it.

Early Symptoms to Watch For

Recognizing symptoms in your 20s can be difficult, especially since they may be mistaken for stress, anxiety, or attention issues. Common early-onset Alzheimer’s symptoms include:

  • Memory loss that disrupts daily life
  • Difficulty planning or solving problems
  • Struggling with familiar tasks
  • Confusion with time or place
  • Trouble understanding visuals or spatial relationships
  • Misplacing items and losing the ability to retrace steps
  • Mood swings or personality changes

Diagnosis and Support

Diagnosing Alzheimer’s at a young age is challenging. If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms, it’s important to seek evaluation from a neurologist. Brain imaging, cognitive tests, and genetic counseling may be used to rule out other conditions and confirm diagnosis.

Why Awareness Matters

Even though it’s rare, early-onset Alzheimer’s can be emotionally and financially overwhelming. Awareness helps reduce stigma, encourages early diagnosis, and allows families to make informed decisions about treatment and support.

After incendiary comments from an X user went viral online, actor Vijay Sethupathi was accused of sexual exploitation and found himself at the center of a storm. Vijay has now flatly disputed these claims in an interview with Subhash K. Jha of Deccan Chronicle, adding that his team has lodged a cybercrime case.

What Vijay said

In a statement, Vijay said, “Anyone who knows me even remotely will laugh at this. I know myself too. This kind of filthy accusation can’t upset me. My family and close friends are upset, but I tell them, ‘Let it slide. This woman is doing it to be noticed. She has her few minutes of fame, let her enjoy it.”

He went on to add, “We’ve complained to cybercrime. I’ve faced all kinds of whispering campaigns for seven years. Such targeting has not affected me so far. It never will.”

Regarding the controversy

Ramya Mohan charged the actor on her since-deleted X account. It described how a young woman has been rehabilitating after being exploited and manipulated under the pretense of following industry standards. The post read, “@VijaySethuOffl has offered Rs. 2L for ‘caravan favors’, Rs. 50k for ‘drives’ and acts like a saint on social media.” Although no names or timelines of the events were specified, the post concluded with the words, “It’s insane how some insensitive morons are more focused on questioning the source or blaming the victim than actually acknowledging the truth… This was her life, her pain.”

Actor Vijay Sethupathi, who has won a National Award, primarily appears in Tamil films. In addition, he starred in Katrina Kaif’s Merry Christmas and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. He most recently featured with Nithya Menen in the film Thalaivan Thalaivii.

Actors Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani are featured in the first song from War 2, “Aavan Jaavan,” which was released by the film’s producers just two weeks before its premiere. This is both their first joint project and Kiara’s first film following the birth of her daughter with actor and spouse Sidharth Malhotra. Given that it falls on her 34th birthday, the actress has a special place in her heart for the song “Aavan Jaavan” from War 2. With the reunion of the Kesariya team (song from Brahmastra), director Ayan Mukerji, music composer Pritam, singer Arijit Singh, and lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya, Aavan Jaavan generated a lot of buzz. He went on to become a 2023 chart-topping hit.

The song “Aavan Jaavan” from War 2

In the song Aavan Javan, there is love between Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani. As they drive across the countryside, dance on the streets of Italy, and make wishes, the song highlights their naive chemistry. Additionally, there must be a bikini scene, as is customary in YRF movies. The movie teaser also featured a highlight of Kiara’s swimsuit moment.

Fans have responded to the song in a variety of ways, with many complimenting Arijit Singh’s voice. “Arijit Singh has one of the BEST voices on the planet,” a person commented. Gorgeous! “I never want Arijit’s era to end,” wrote another person. Even though I’m single, he gives me the impression that I’m in a relationship. Others praised the new on-screen duo of Kiara Advani and Hrithik Roshan.

“Aavan Jaavan – was the soundtrack for our Italian shoot, and creating it was one of the most joy-filled experiences and memories of making War 2 for all of us!” Ayan Mukerji previously teased the song’s release.

The sixth entry in Aditya Chopra’s YRF Spy Universe is War 2, which Ayan Mukerji directed. The leading actors in the Shridhar Raghavan-written movie are Kiara Advani, Jr. NTR, and Hrithik Roshan. Ashutosh Rana will reprise her part from the 2019 movie, which also featured Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor in the key roles, while Anil Kapoor will play an important role.

India vs England 5th Test at The Oval: Weather Conditions Could Impact Final Match

0

Shubman Gill’s India has to win to even the series at two and share the trophy with England, who are up 2-1. But everyone’s eyes are on the skies as much as the field and players as India gets ready for the fifth Test at The Oval in London.

An uncertain London weather forecast hangs over the eagerly awaited competition.

Rain could ruin the five days of the IND vs. ENG 5th Test Match, according to the most recent London weather report.

According to the Oval weather forecast, cloudy skies and mild rain are predicted every day.
The predicted temperature range is 14°C to 24°C, with high humidity (about 88%) and wind gusts of up to 13 km/h.

The swing bowlers may benefit significantly from these cloudy conditions, which would make the game more difficult.

After an incredible comeback in Manchester, when extraordinary hundreds from Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar, combined with KL Rahul’s tough 90, helped secure a dramatic draw, India enters this match with a lot of enthusiasm.

Ollie Pope will skipper England while Ben Stokes is out with a biceps tendon injury.

The stress over the pitch itself heightens the drama. Although some grass may be mowed before play, the oval pitch looks green, which benefits seamers. The fact that all four of these innings have averaged less than 300 runs since 2019 suggests that the conditions are bowler-friendly.

Fans should expect an exciting contest if the rain doesn’t come. However, the India vs. England weather update may be just as significant as the toss, given the bleak London weather forecast. Hopefully, this exciting series finale will not be marred by rain.

Arijit Singh Now Charges ₹2 Crore Per Show, Monty Sharma Recalls His Early Days

0

At one time, Arijit Singh had not gained recognition. In those days, he used to wait for hours in the office of music director Monty Sharma. Currently, he sings in practically every movie in the Hindi film industry, earning as much as Rs 2 crore per performance. Monty Sharma gave an interview recently about the disparity between pay for singers and composers. In the modern world, and also in the past, the revenue when a song is fully produced is about Rs 2 lakh.

Monty Sharma shared, “Everything has evolved over some time.” He explained, “In the past, we used to get a complete song done for Rs 2 lakh. This was inclusive of an entire orchestra which had 40 violins among a lot of other things. Eventually, when I created a brand name for myself after a couple of my works did well, I began to get Rs 35,000 per song irrespective of the other expenses included to make a song.”

Monty remarked, “Your brand decides your worth.” Explaining his theory, Sharma claimed, “There was a time when Arijit Singh used to come sit beside me for hours on end without any break to eat. He charges Rs 2 crore per performance now. People have to pay him Rs 2 crore if they want him to perform for them.”

He suggested that the social media platforms have increased revenue compared to the past when only radios and televisions served as means of communication.

“Audio rights were sold for crores even then, but people heard those songs only through radio and television,” shared Sharma.

He went on to say, “Now, with the rise of social media, the reach is greater, and the income is on another level. Composers now make ridiculous amounts of money. A composer might charge Rs 20 lakh per song, but in turn, he is giving away 90% of the song rights to the audio company.” In his words, it is only the audio companies that profit significantly from the situation at hand. “They are making mad money. It is because there are so many aspects to it, such as Spotify and YouTube. Imagine the kind of revenue they are generating.”

A black composer stated that although technology and other aspects of the music industry have advanced, the earning potential for a composer is still very low. The only realization of profit emerges from the singers. As the face and voice of the song, each of these emerging singers charge between Rs 1 and Rs 2 crore.

In Monty’s view, thanks to reality shows, artists now have other options to earn revenue apart from royalties.

He said, “In my days, during my reality show ‘Voice of India’, I was getting Rs 7.5 lakh a day. These days, it’s endless. There’s a lot of money now. Reality shows pay a lot to mentors. Shows pay a lot to singers too, a lot of money.”

In all these claims, Monty also acknowledged that most do not have the good fortune to get that type of exposure. There is a lot of luck involved in getting that exposure. “People do not understand their efforts. Producers ko samajh hi nahi aata unka kaam.”

Kuldeep Yadav Should Play at The Oval, Says Parthiv Patel Ahead of 5th Test

0

Parthiv Patel, a former wicketkeeper-batter, thinks India should consider including Kuldeep Yadav in their bowling lineup for Thursday’s fifth Test match against England at The Oval.

Former Team India cricketer Parthiv Patel believes the team should try to add Kuldeep Yadav to the mix before the fifth Test match against England.

India will want a wicket-taking bowler like Kuldeep if lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah is unable to play in the fifth Test, Patel stated on JioHotstar.

“India should approach selection the way they’ve approached their batting — with confidence. If Bumrah isn’t available, India will need another attacking bowler. In this current bowling mix, Kuldeep Yadav offers that attacking edge as a wicket-taker,” he said.

“So, from that perspective, I believe India should find a way to include him. Whether it happens or not, I’m not sure — but my opinion is that Kuldeep Yadav should play,” Patel added.

The BCCI’s medical experts advised Bumrah not to play in consecutive Test matches due to his workload; therefore, he might not play in the last Test match.

Regarding Bumrah’s workload management, the former cricket player believes that the support staff ought to assist him in getting better as soon as possible.

“It was announced at the press conference that he would play only three Tests, so there are a lot of factors to consider — recovery, fitness, workload. But I would personally want to see him play the final one. Hopefully, the support staff travelling with the team can help him recover in time,” he said.

Mohammed Siraj will be India’s top pacer while he is away. The Hyderabad-born player has bowled 139 overs and is the only pacer to have participated in all four Test matches thus far.

Patel also praised Siraj, stating that his smile is admirable regardless of the circumstances of the contest.

“We tend to take Mohammed Siraj for granted. The effort he puts in, the intensity, and the smile he wears — no matter the match situation — that’s commendable. As for Bumrah, we’re all aware of how carefully his workload is being managed,” said the 40-year-old.

Team India has prepared to face the ‘Three Lions’ in the fifth Test, which will begin at The Oval on July 31, following their draw in the fourth Test match.
