Sharad Kelkar, gearing up for his return to television with the upcoming show Tum Se Tum Tak, has addressed recent reports suggesting he is the highest paid actor on the series. The show, which features Niharika Chouksey alongside him and is set to premiere on July 7, 2025, marks Kelkar’s much-anticipated comeback to a leading role on the small screen.
In a recent interview, the 48-year-old actor responded to the speculation surrounding his remuneration with a straightforward perspective. “Yes, I charge for it. What’s wrong with that? If someone is earning well, people should be happy—not jealous. It’s a sign of achievement. If an actor returns to television, it’s because they have value. No one’s calling you back just for nostalgia—you have to bring something to the table,” he asserted, emphasizing that his return is based on merit and contribution.
Kelkar, who boasts over two decades in the entertainment industry, clarified that his decision to return to television wasn’t merely sentimental but driven by the substance of the project. He also shared what specifically drew him to Tum Se Tum Tak, describing its story as “extremely compelling.” He revealed that the show was initially offered to him in January, but he had to decline due to prior shooting commitments for another series.
However, when the producers approached him again in March, and he heard the plot, he was immediately intrigued. What particularly captured his attention, he shared, was the show’s distinctive format, which explores the theme of “two different worlds colliding,” a concept evident in the promotional material.
