The Board of Control for Cricket in India will soon announce the name of the new chief selector; the post was lying vacant after Chetan Sharma resigned. Chetan Sharma made a controversial exit as he got featured in a sting operation in which he talked about some sensitive information related to the Indian men’s cricket team.

As per the reports, the former Indian cricketer Ajit Agarkar is all set to be appointed as the new chief selector of the selection committee and with his appointment, the selection committee will get huge playing experience as Agarkar has played 26 test matches and 191 ODIs and he is the third highest wicket taker for the country.

Though Ajit Agarkar is not much in news yet in 2017, he garnered a lot of attention for the remarks that he made for MS Dhoni. Agarkar suggested that Dhoni should be dropped from the T20 team as now other options should also be checked. This is what he said, “India must now look at other options (beyond Dhoni), at least in T20Is. In one-day cricket, they seem be happy with the role that he is playing. When you were the captain of the side, it was different. But just as a batsman, will India miss him, I don’t think so. In T20 cricket, it is lot easier to make that transition as there is lot of experience in that team apart from MS Dhoni now.”

Well that was a courageous statement because MS Dhoni has a huge fan following and we feel that the Indian team is going to be in good hands if Agarkar displays the same honesty and conviction while working as the chief selector.
