Saiyaara, produced by Yash Raj Films, is set to be released in theaters today. Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, two debutants, play the lead roles in the romantic drama, which is director Mohit Suri’s comeback to the genre. Although Ahaan, the cousin of Ananya Panday and the nephew of Chunky, has been extensively discussed and written about, Aneet is a name that is mainly unknown outside of the core Bollywood circles. She has since acted in a few films, but not as the main character.
Who is Aneet Padda?
Born in October 2002 to a middle-class working family in Amritsar, Aneet was raised far away from the world of Bollywood. She started modeling for ads as a teenager, which opened up more opportunities. While attending Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi, to earn a bachelor’s degree, she kept modeling.
Aneet made her debut as an extra in the 2022 film Salaam Venky, starring Kajol. However, she got her big break last year when she appeared on the Amazon Prime Video series Big Girls Don’t Cry alongside Zoya Hussain, Raima Sen, and Pooja Bhatt. ‘Bombay parents’ is what Aneet refers to as the show’s directors, Karan Kapadia and Nitya Mehra. Aneet, who is also a passionate singer, recorded her debut single, Masoom, in 2024. In the same year, she played Aneet Kaur in a supporting role on the television series Yuva Sapno Ka Safar.
Aneet Padda’s Breakthrough with Saiyaara
Director Mohit Suri chose Aneet to star opposite Ahaan Panday in his 2025 romantic drama of the same name. According to the director, he was seeking new actors for his movie. Aneet was reportedly one of the hundreds of females who tried out for Saiyaara. Still, her performance so pleased Mohit and the top YRF executives that she was given preference for the position.
