The Indian cricketer Dhruv Jurel is currently on each Indian cricket fan’s mind as he batted beautifully in the Ranchi test match and impressed everyone with his wicket-keeping skills as well. The former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was so impressed with Dhruv Jurel that he called him the next MS Dhoni in the making.
Dhruv Jurel has played two test matches till now and he will certainly be a part of the team which will play the fifth test match at Dharamshala but the big question is whether Dhruv Jurel will be able to retain his place when Rishabh Pant will make a comeback.
Rishabh Pant was an integral part of team India until he got injured in a car accident after which the Indian selectors had to select different wicketkeepers such as KS Bharat, Ishan Kishan and Dhruv Jurel. The Indian team management also tried KL Rahul as a wicketkeeper because it gave them the option of having an extra bowler in the team.
Recently, the former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble shed his opinion on the discussion of whether Dhruv Jurel will be a part of the team when Pant returns, he said, “Oh yes, there’s Rishabh Pant. We don’t know of course when he comes, comes back whenever that happens. Sooner hopefully for Rishabh. But otherwise, yes, he (Dhruv Jurel) certainly has all the credentials to get to where MS (Dhoni) reached in his career. But he’s shown that he’s not just shown the temperament of his technique to defence but even when he’s attacking. Even in that first innings he was very assured he went after and then hit those big sixes when he was batting with the tail and hats off even behind the stumps.”
