The IPL 2024 journey of Chennai Super Kings ended on 18 May 2024 after they got defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last league match. The match was played at M. Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru and RCB won it by 27 runs and managed to enter the play-offs after improving their run-rate in comparison to CSK.
Now, the big question is whether MS Dhoni will play for one more season or this was his last season.
Many feel that the IPL 2024 was the last season of MS Dhoni as a player, firstly because he handed over captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad and secondly it is being said that he was in pain due to knee injury and he was advised to take rest by doctors but he kept on playing as he didn’t want to leave the team midway.
A source close to the CSK management told a news portal “Dhoni has not told anybody in CSK that he is quitting. He has told the management that he will wait for a couple of months before taking a final call.”
When the question was asked regarding his fitness as it may be a concern if he plays for another season, a CSK official stated, “We will wait for Dhoni’s communication. He always has the best interests of the team in mind, let’s see what happens.”
So let’s just wait for MSD to decide and see what happens!
