MS Dhoni is unarguably one of the most loved cricketers of the country but do you think that he was connected in any manner with the match which was played between Australia and Afghanistan? This match was played yesterday at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai and after batting first Afghanistan gave a target of 292 runs which was not a big one considering the fact that they have a very strong batting lineup.
However, Afghanistan bowlers bowled superbly and there was a time when Australia was reeling at the score of 91/7 in 19 overs and their defeat looked inevitable.
But Glenn Maxwell had other plans and he countered the Afghanistan bowlers with resilience and determination despite bearing lot of pain due to cramps in his leg. Glenn Maxwell went on to score 201 runs not out and took his team into semi-finals as Australia defeated Afghanistan by 3 wickets.
Glenn Maxwell played 128 balls and his innings included 21 fours and 10 sixes and when the whole world was praising Maxwell for his superb innings, one cricket fan credited MS Dhoni for Maxwell’s performance.
An X user posted a photo of Glenn Maxwell and his wife Vini and wrote, “When your life partner is from thala’s den (Chennai), then you are destined for greatness. Huge credits to thala for this amazing knock”.
Vini is an Australian citizen of Indian origin who basically belongs to a Tamil family and the X user talked about the common thing that is shared by Vini and Dhoni which is Chennai.
While Vini is from Chennai, MS Dhoni has been leading Chennai Super Kings in the IPL since the inaugural edition of 2008.
