Young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal delivered a stunning comeback in the second innings of the first Test against Australia at the Optus Stadium, Perth. After failing to score in the first innings, the 22-year-old left-hander showcased his resilience by smashing an impressive fifty, which included six boundaries and two sixes.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s two sixes in the second innings brought his tally for the year to 34 sixes in 12 Test matches, surpassing the previous record for most sixes in a calendar year in Test cricket. The record was earlier held by former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, who hit 33 sixes in nine matches during 2014.

This milestone adds to Jaiswal’s growing reputation as an aggressive and fearless batter in red-ball cricket. His ability to clear the boundary with ease continues to make him a pivotal part of India’s Test lineup.

At the end of the day 2, India’s score in second innings was 172/0 with Yashasvi Jaiswal (90*) and KL Rahul (62*) at crease and now India is leading by 218 runs.
