Yellow Alert for Delhi Weather: National Capital to Experience Light to Moderate Rainfall

As the monsoon has covered the entire country, Delhi is likely to expect light to moderate rain on Wednesday.

Considering that some areas of Delhi experienced a brief period of rain on Tuesday, July 4, the meteorological agency also predicted cloudy skies and sporadic showers over the next six to seven days. At Safdarjung Observatory, the main weather station in Delhi, the minimum temperature was measured at 27.8 degrees Celsius, which is typical for this time of year. The hottest temperature is predicted to be in the range of 35 degrees Celsius.

Rainfall over the past four months in Delhi

In the past four months, Delhi, the nation’s capital, has had above-average rainfall: 53.2 mm in March instead of the regular 17.4 mm, 20.1 mm in April instead of the average 16.3 mm, 111 mm in May instead of the average 30.7 mm, and 101.7 mm in June.

The country is expected to receive typical rainfall in July, or 94 to 106% of the long-period average of 280.4 mm. However, it has forecasted below-normal precipitation for a large portion of peninsular India’s northwest, northeast, and southeast regions.

Mumbai has received a “orange alert.”

Mumbai has received a “orange alert” from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in a few locations throughout the city. This follows mild rain that fell in certain areas of the city on Wednesday morning.
