The IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and defending champions Gujarat Titans which was played yesterday at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, was one of the most exciting encounters that we have witnessed between the two teams.
KKR’s victory in this match was no less than a miracle as the Kolkata team needed to score 29 runs to win in the last over of the innings and nobody thought that KKR even had a chance to win but KKR batter Rinku Singh had some other plans and he pulled off an almost impossible task of hitting 5 sixes back to back in the last over of the innings which was bowled by Yash Dayal.
Rinku Singh and Yash Dayal are teammates from the UP Ranji team and the GT bowler was left shell-shocked after the former smashed him hard. The stand-in skipper of Rashid Khan also supported his player by saying that he did whatever he could do but Rinku Singh was too good.
While the whole group of KKR was celebrating the victory in a big style, Yash Dayal was very disappointed despite the fact that he didn’t bowl that bad to get such a treatment.
KKR not just won the match but it also won the hearts of cricket lovers as it made a motivating tweet for the GT bowler Yash Dayal after the match. KKR tweeted a photo of Yash Dayal with caption, “Chin up, lad. Just a hard day at the office, happens to the best of players in cricket. You’re a champion, Yash, and you’re gonna come back strong”.
KKR has won 2 out of 3 matches that it has played and it won’t be wrong to say that it is proving its critics wrong with its performance as many felt that without Shreyas Iyer, KKR won’t be having much chance in the tournament.
