Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma have officially ended their marriage, with their lawyer confirming that the legal proceedings have been completed. After months of speculation surrounding their relationship, the couple was spotted at the Bandra family court, where their divorce was finalized. As part of the settlement, Chahal has agreed to pay Rs 4.75 crore as alimony to Dhanashree.
A video captures the lawyer stating, “Divorce has been done, marriage is dissolved.” When questioned about the financial terms of the settlement, he chose to refrain from commenting. On Wednesday, Bar and Bench reported that according to the consent terms, Chahal had agreed to pay a total of Rs 4.75 crore in permanent alimony to Verma. Out of this, Rs 2.37 crore has already been transferred to her. However, the non-payment of the remaining amount was considered non-compliance by the family court.

Earlier, several reports had surfaced, claiming that Dhanashree was demanding Rs 60 crore in alimony from the cricketer. These claims were promptly dismissed by her family, with a member of the Verma family calling such reports “baseless”.
The Bombay High Court had expedited the couple’s divorce-by-mutual consent petition. Justice Madhav Jamdar instructed the Bandra family court to settle the matter by March 20, as Chahal would be unavailable after March 21 due to his Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments.
Chahal and Verma, who got married in 2020, have been living separately for the past 18 months. When asked about the reasons behind their decision to part ways, they cited “compatibility issues” as the primary factor leading to their separation.
