6 Reasons Why Australia Defeated India In World Cup Final

The biggest topic of discussion at the moment is how the Indian team lost the finals of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 to Australia despite the fact that India was marching like a storm in the tournament, defeating each and every team they played with in the league phase.

Here are few reasons which played an important role in India’s defeat:

1. Pitch:

The slow and drier pitch made it a little tough for the Indian batters to score runs but became a little batting friendly when Australia batted in the second innings.

2. Tactics:

The Australians were ahead of the Indian team when it came to tactics and strategy, in fact the experts praised Pat Cummins for the bowling changes that he made and kept the Indian batters in control.

3. Scarcity of fours:

The Indian team got off to a good start but after the first 10 overs, the Indian batters struggled to score boundaries because of which they failed in making a big score.

4. Big partnerships:

Failing in making big partnerships cost India the WC 2023 trophy.

5. Middle order failure:

The Indian top order has performed well throughout the tournament but in the finals, they failed and the middle order also failed in performing well which resulted in India losing the finals.

6. Aggressive batting approach of Australia:

The aggressive batting approach of Australia worked in their favour big time as they successfully chased the target in 43 overs and special mention to Travis Head is needed who scored a century and failed all the bowling plans of team India.
