HBO Shows &Movies to Vanish from Disney+ Hotstar Soon

India’s biggest streaming site Disney+ Hotstar will no longer carry HBO series, in an alarming development.

Disney and Hotstar have made a significant decision. HBO programming will be unavailable on the OTT platform beginning March 31. This information was provided by the corporation via their Twitter account. Fans have expressed dissatisfaction with Disney + Hotstar’s move, as it means that you will no longer be able to watch many popular series on this site.

Numerous popular HBO shows were included in Disney + Hotstar. The Last of Us, Succession, Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, The Wire, The Sopranos, Silicon Valley, and more series are included. The Last Of Us, a recent show, has been a big success.

Let us tell you that Disney + Hotstar only became popular in India because to HBO’s hit programme and the IPL and other cricket competitions.

Nevertheless, you will no longer be able to view IPL matches or HBO series on this platform.

People are outraged by Disney Plus Hotstar’s choice. This may have an impact on the company’s subscription base. The premium membership to Disney + Hotstar now costs Rs 1499.

Users may dislike the membership at this pricing due to the lack of IPL matches and HBO content. Viacom currently owns the IPL rights. It will be shown on Jio Cinema. The FIFA World Cup was also broadcast exclusively on Jio Cinema.

After acquiring the IPL rights, Jio cancelled the Disney + Hotstar subscription from all of its plans. Airtel, like Jio, has eliminated the subscription to Disney PlusHotstar from several of its plans.

In such a case, customers must now subscribe to the OTT platform separately, and the lack of HBO series on that platform would also frustrate users. This might have a direct influence on the company’s subscription base.
