The National Awards were announced a couple of days back and the majority of the Indian movie lovers are happy with the decisions of the jury. While Allu Arjun won the National Award for Best Actor for his acting performance in Pushpa: The Rise, the National Award for Best Actress has been won jointly by Kriti Sanon and Alia Bhatt for Mimi and Gangubai Kathiawadi, respectively.
In a chat with a news portal, Kriti Sanon revealed that she called up Alia and congratulated her, Kriti said, “I’ve always admired Alia as an actor and she was phenomenal in Gangubai Kathiawadi. We’ve both played the title role in our respective films and it’s a proud moment to be sharing this prestigious award with her! I called her up and both of us were just too excited.”
Kriti Sanon also made a heartfelt post on Instagram in which she thanked her family members and people associated with Mimi for believing in her. Here is Kriti’s Instagram post:
Kriti was also happy for Pankaj Tripathi as he won the National Award for Best actor for his role in Mimi. She stated, “My excitement was doubled when I saw Pankaj ji has won for Mimi too. I called him up and we spoke. He’s visiting his hometown right now. I’ve great regard for him. He’s one of my most favourite co-stars and I truly always wish and pray for the best for him. I’m so happy that he’s getting all the love and validation he truly deserves.”
