NIA Launches Extensive Raids Across the Nation in Human Trafficking Probe

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched a massive investigation across 10 states in an effort to break up a sizable network involved in people trafficking and to look into the illegal entry of citizens of Bangladesh into southern areas under the false pretense of being North Indians. Among the states involved in the raids include Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Haryana, Puducherry, Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir.

The NIA’s many teams started carrying out raids in the 10 states based on specific information against individuals associated with the crime. Investigators in these 10 states are looking at over forty locations, according to NIA sources, in an attempt to find the network of people traffickers with ties overseas.According to authorities, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended a person from Myanmar in Jammu on Wednesday as part of national searches to apprehend people engaged in human trafficking. The searches, which are taking place in eight states and two Union Territories, are related to incidents of human trafficking. According to a Jammu and Kashmir official, a Rohingya Muslim from Myanmar was taken into custody during a raid.Around two in the morning, Zaffar Alam was brought into arrest from his temporary home in the Bathindi neighborhood of Jammu, while another accused person is still at large, according to the official.The NIA conducted targeted searches in the Chennai neighborhoods of Perumbakkam, Padappai, and Maraimalai Nagar early on Wednesday morning. An important discovery made during the operation resulted in the arrest of many people who were involved in document falsification.Munna, a worker at a juice shop in Maraimalai Nagar, was detained on suspicion of fabricating phoney Aadhar cards for people entering the country illegally. His flat mate Miyan, who was also detained, is believed to have been his accomplice.According to the official in Jammu, the raids were limited to impoverished neighborhoods that housed immigrants from Myanmar and were carried out in conjunction with a case involving human trafficking and violations of the Passports Act.
