Actor Kamal Haasan is facing legal issues due to a purported contract violation. According to an article in India Today, Thirrupathi Brothers co-producer Subash Chandra Bose and director Lingusamy have complained to the Producer’s Council about Haasan.
For those who are unaware, the Thirrupathi Brothers became debt as a result of their collaboration on the 2015 film “Uttama Villain.” Kamal Haasan pledged to work with them on a film after ‘Uttama Villain’ bombed at the box office, but it has been nine years and he hasn’t been seen to follow through on the commitment. In a recent interview with Touring Talkies, Lingusamy stated that the actor from “Vikram” had pledged to make up for the production house’s loss by directing a film with a Rs 30 crore budget. Still, he was unable to do so.
In the video, Lingusamy stated, “First, he told us about a really commercial movie about someone who rescued his brother from thugs, kind of like Velu Naicker (Kamal’s character in Mani Ratnam’s 1987 film Nayakan).” Siddharth was meant to portray the sibling, but Kamal’s habit of having many changes of heart is an issue. He’s successfully done it previously. It would have been different if I had entered as a director, but I entered as a producer.
reported that Kamal Haasan changed the movie’s screenplay several times, which contributed to the box office loss of the picture, according to a statement released by Lingusamy on Thursday, May 2. He also said that they intended to replicate the popular Malayalam movie “Drishyam,” but Haasan declined and chose to work on the project under a new title.
To resolve the issue, Subash Chandra Bose has contacted the Producers Association. The council hasn’t responded yet.
