The Pakistani team may have won its last league match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 which it played against Ireland but with this win, their journey in the tournament also came to an end.
The Pakistani team and skipper Babar Azam are getting slammed a lot for losing their matches against USA and India and recently former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik shed his opinion on what Babar Azam should do next.
During a show, when Shoaib Malik was asked what he would have done if he had been in Babar’s shoes, he said, “I would have resigned immediately to focus on my cricket. This had happened with me in the past. I was offered captaincy again for a year around 2009-10, but I denied. I wanted to focus on my game. (In Babar’s case) I’m not saying for the sake of it but his numbers also tell a story.”
Shoaib Malik further said, “If there was any improvement as a leader then definitely he should’ve continued. But there hasn’t been any. He captained in three T20 World Cups, an ODI World Cup and two Asia Cups but won nothing.”
