Bollywood actor and director Satish Kaushik, known for his roles like Calendar in Mr India, passed away at 66 in the early hours of Thursday due to a heart attack while travelling in a car. Despite doctors’ efforts to revive him, he breathed his last on March 9.
News of his death was confirmed by his friend and National Award-winning actor Anupam Kher in a tweet, with Kher expressing shock and grief at the sudden passing of his 45-year friendship with Kaushik.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid his last respects to the Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron actor, saying his contribution to Indian cinema, artistic creations and performances will always be remembered.
Satish Kaushik is survived by his wife Shashi and 11-year-old daughter Vanshika Kaushik. His body has been taken to Deendayal Hospital for postmortem and is expected to be handed over to his family at around 3 pm, following which his last rites will be conducted.
The death of the beloved actor has created a deep void in the film industry and he will be dearly missed. May his soul rest in peace.
