Actor Rushad Rana recently opened up about his experience filming Mohabbatein (2000) and shared insights into working with top Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai. In an interview, Rushad revealed that while Shah Rukh Khan remembered him fondly when they reunited for Veer Zaara (2004), he had a different experience with Aishwarya Rai on the sets of Mohabbatein.
Rushad mentioned that he did not have any interactions with Aishwarya during the filming of Mohabbatein, adding that she seemed to “look right through” him and other actors. “I didn’t have any interaction with Aishwarya. She chose to look right through us,” he shared. He also mentioned having a similar experience with Preity Zinta on the sets of Veer Zaara, stating, “Preity Zinta did the same during Veer Zaara. That’s okay; what can you do?”
In contrast, Rushad praised Shah Rukh Khan for remembering him from their previous work in Mohabbatein. He expressed his surprise and delight when SRK greeted him warmly on the sets of Veer Zaara, despite their brief interaction years earlier.
Rushad also shared a positive encounter with Rani Mukerji during the filming of Veer Zaara. He recalled how Rani’s mother was a fan of his TV show Kehta Hai Dil, and Rani herself often watched it with her. He reminisced, “She told me, ‘I admire you TV guys. How do you manage to say dialogues after dialogues?’ Throughout the shoot, she was very warm.”
While Rushad made his Bollywood debut with Mohabbatein, he is more recognized for his work in television. He has appeared in popular shows like Hip Hip Hurray, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Sasural Simar Ka, Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara, Kumkum Bhagya, and Anupamaa. In addition to his TV career, he has also acted in films such as Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, 8 x 10 Tasveer, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, and the recent Ulajh.
