Alia Bhatt is currently busy promoting her upcoming film, Jigra, slated for release next month. The actress recently shared insights about the movie during a conversation with Devara: Part 1 star Jr NTR and filmmaker Karan Johar. Jigra marks an important chapter in Alia’s career, especially since she signed the project soon after welcoming her daughter, Raha Kapoor, with husband Ranbir Kapoor.
Alia mentioned that the story of Jigra deeply resonated with her. The film revolves around her character’s determination to protect her brother, a theme that aligned with her feelings of motherhood. She reflected on how the protective instincts she developed after her daughter’s birth influenced her performance in the film. “When I signed Jigra I think I was in my tigress mode,” Alia shared. “I was in my most protective mode—‘No one come near her’—that was the energy.”
Alia expressed how the timing of the film offer felt significant, attributing it to destiny. “I always say destiny, luck, life has so much to play in things going a certain way,” she said. According to her, the fact that Jigra came to her at a time when she was feeling so protective as a new mother was remarkable. “It had all of those things laced over it,” she added.
Motherhood has brought major changes to Alia’s life, both personally and professionally. She reflected on how becoming a mother has shifted her focus. “I don’t think I am the same person,” Alia said, adding that life feels more meaningful now. She spoke about how actors can sometimes become self-focused, but having her daughter Raha in her life has shifted that perspective. “Now when there is another being in your life suddenly it is like Alia who? It is Raha, Raha, Raha! The focus is on her and nurturing her.”
