Alia Bhatt’s Timeless Mehendi Lehenga Makes a Stylish Return at Manish Malhotra’s Diwali Celebration

Alia Bhatt celebrated sustainability this festive season by wearing the iconic fuschia pink lehenga she wore to her mehendi ceremony at Manish Malhotra’s Diwali celebration in Mumbai on October 22, 2024.

Alia Bhatt’s vivid costume, designed by visionary couturier Manish Malhotra, made a bold statement at the star-studded celebration. Alia, who married Ranbir Kapoor in a small wedding ceremony in April 2022, honoured Manish’s workmanship during her mehendi ceremony with his personalized lehenga ensemble. The Mijwan women’s impassioned 3000-hour meticulous handwork, embroidered with Kashmiri and Chikankari threads, expressed Alia’s individuality with elan.

Alia was accompanied at the Diwali celebration by her sister Shaheen Bhatt, who looked stunning in a Manish Malhotra embroidered pastel suit. As Alia Bhatt moved towards the festive background outside Manish’s home, her lehenga transported us back in time to when Manish released a series of photographs from Alia’s mehendi ceremony, which celebrated the effort that went into crafting this masterpiece.

Alia, the stunning Manish Malhotra Bride’s mehendi attire was designed with sustainability in mind, so it’s no surprise that the Jigra-star selected Manish’s Diwali celebration to celebrate both his craft and the festive season under one roof.

Approximately 180 cloth patches were created to commemorate her important occasion. Alia matched the lehenga with a blouse embroidered with genuine gold and silver nakshi and kora flowers, as well as vintage gold metal sequins from Kutch, Gujarat.

Alia Bhatt finished her desi-bohemian stylish style with a pair of trendy chandbali earrings and kadas. Alia Diwali’s glam sleek hairdo was arranged by famous stylist Ami Patel, while Puneet Saini did her fresh, minimal makeup. Alia certainly looked festive, and her style provided the ideal backdrop for the Diwali fashion moodboard.

The who’s who of the film business attended Manish Malhotra’s Diwali celebration, looking ethereal in their couture ensembles. Celebrities such as Ananya Panday, Kajol, Rekha, Punit Malhotra, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, Kusha Kapila, Sobhita Dhulipala, Shriya Saran, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Shamita Shetty, Abhay Deol, Angad Bedi, Urmila Matondkar, Sanya Malhotra, Kanika Kapoor, and Orry looked stylish in their respective ensembles.
