Alia Bhatt’s Jigra Facing Tough Time At Box-Office, Fails To Cross Rs 25 Cr Mark In 8 Days

Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, has faced a challenging time at the box office. Despite high expectations, the film has struggled to reach the Rs 25 crore milestone after eight days. Early estimates suggest that the film earned Rs 1.25 crore on Thursday and Rs 1.15 crore on Friday, bringing its total collection to Rs 23.60 crore.

Occupancy rates on October 18 stood at a mere 9.44%, with morning shows seeing just 5.06% attendance and night shows peaking at 14.01%.

In a recent interview, Vasan Bala, the director of Jigra, discussed the film’s underperformance and how he is handling the post-release feedback. He acknowledged the difficulty of the situation, saying, “It’s been a tough phase. I’m taking things one day at a time.” He also spoke about the pressure to perform at the box office, especially when working on a big-budget project, and described the experience as a first for him.

Despite Jigra’s disappointing box office run, the film has already recovered its production costs. The film’s total budget was Rs 90 crore, which included Rs 80 crore for production and Rs 10 crore for print and publicity. According to trade reports, Dharma Productions has recouped this amount through the sale of digital and satellite rights. This means any further earnings from music rights or theatrical collections will be pure profit for the production house.
