Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 Roars At Box-Office, Becomes Biggest Opener With Rs 175.1 Crore

The much-awaited sequel to Pushpa: The Rise, Pushpa 2: The Rule, has shattered Indian box office records with an extraordinary opening day collection of Rs 175.1 crore net across all languages. This monumental achievement crowns it as the biggest opening day ever for an Indian film.

Sukumar’s Pushpa 2 outperformed SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which earned Rs 156 crore on its first day. The film also made history by becoming the first Indian movie to earn more than Rs 50 crore net in two languages—Telugu and Hindi—on a single day. As per reports, on December 5, 2024, the movie recorded an impressive 80.14% occupancy in Telugu markets and 51.53% in Hindi markets.

With Pushpa 2: The Rule, Allu Arjun has solidified his position as the reigning star of Indian cinema in 2024.The film delves deeper into the gripping tale of Pushpa Raj, a red sandalwood smuggler facing ever-escalating challenges. Fahadh Faasil reprises his role as the fierce SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, with Rashmika Mandanna returning as Srivalli. The addition of Jagapathi Babu to the cast heightens the drama and intrigue.

The original installment, Pushpa: The Rise, released in 2021 amidst the pandemic, became a global sensation, amassing Rs 326.6 crore worldwide. The film also earned Allu Arjun his first National Award for Best Actor. Pushpa 2: The Rule has now surpassed all expectations, promising an even more remarkable box office run in the coming weeks.
