After months of silence following her involvement in the India’s Got Latent controversy, content creator Apoorva Mukhija—known widely as The Rebel Kid—was spotted in Mumbai on Monday night. It was during this unexpected encounter with the paparazzi that she opened up about how the investigation affected her personally.

In a raw and unguarded moment, Apoorva admitted to struggling emotionally through the ordeal. When one of the photographers asked if she had any words of encouragement for her followers dealing with hard times, she responded with honesty and vulnerability. “Yaar main toh bahut zyada royi thi. I would recommend sab log bas thoda thoda ro lo. Aapke pass bas acche dost ho, acche log ho toh sab kuch theek ho jaata hai,” she said, suggesting that sometimes it’s okay to cry and rely on close friends for support.

The conversation took a more serious turn when another photographer asked her directly if she felt guilty for her part in the controversy. Without hesitation, Apoorva replied, “Mujhse galti ho gaye, mujhe maaf kar do,” acknowledging her mistake and asking for forgiveness in a moment that appeared both spontaneous and sincere.

Here are the videos:

Earlier this year, Apoorva had found herself caught in a wave of backlash stemming from a legal case involving fellow influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps. During an episode of India’s Got Latent, Allahbadia allegedly directed an inappropriate and highly offensive question to a contestant, one that involved s*xual innuendo and a disturbing hypothetical scenario: “Would you watch your parents have s*x every day for the rest of your life or join once to stop it forever?” This remark, among others, triggered widespread public outrage and eventually legal scrutiny.

Though Apoorva was not the originator of the comment, her association with the show drew her into the firestorm, casting a long shadow over her otherwise rising social media career. Monday night’s interaction marked the first time she publicly expressed remorse and reflected on the emotional weight of that period.
