Arshad Nadeem Reveals He Defeated Neeraj Chopra & Won Gold Despite Injury

In a remarkable display of determination and skill, Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s star javelin thrower, revealed that he secured the gold medal at Paris Olympics 2024 despite battling an injury. Nadeem, who faced off against India’s Neeraj Chopra, stunned the sports world by not only winning gold but doing so under the shadow of physical pain.

The event, which saw some of the best javelin throwers in the world compete for top honors, was highly anticipated due to the ongoing rivalry between Nadeem and Chopra. Both athletes have been in peak form, pushing each other to new heights in the sport. Fans and analysts alike were eager to see how the competition would unfold.

In a post-event interview, Nadeem disclosed that he had been dealing with a significant injury leading up to and during the competition. “I felt pain during my first throw”, he added, “During the first throw, I felt some pain and the doctor applied some medicine. I told him I didn’t know if that would have any effect. The doctor also told me ‘tum sher ho’. Both the doctor and coach told me the same words.”

He further said, “In the warm-up throw, it crossed 82m then I knew I would be able to throw. But in the first throw my run-up was ruined twice. But in the second throw as soon as the javelin left my hand, I knew it was a 90+ throw. After that throw, I came to my coach and said we have gold and Olympic Record. Now let me try for world record.”

Arshad Nadeem has been awarded Rs. 10 million and a brand new car by the Punjab government.
