BCCI Boosts Indian Cricket, Announces Prizes For Top Performers In Domestic Cricket

The BCCI has announced cash rewards for the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament in all women’s domestic cricket competitions. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah shared the news on social media, highlighting that this initiative aims to recognize and reward the ‘outstanding performances’ of players in India’s domestic circuit.

In addition to the women’s awards, the BCCI has also introduced prize money for the Player of the Match in two key men’s tournaments—the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Jay Shah wrote in his tweet, “We are introducing prize money for the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament in all Women’s and Junior Cricket tournaments under our Domestic Cricket Programme. Additionally, prize money will be awarded for the Player of the Match in the Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali tournaments for Senior Men.

This initiative aims to recognize and reward outstanding performances in the domestic circuit. A heartfelt thank you to the Apex Council for their unwavering support in this endeavour. Together, we are fostering a more rewarding environment for our cricketers. Jai Hind”

For the 2024-25 season, the BCCI has scheduled 11 tournaments in women’s domestic cricket. These include the Senior One Day Trophy, Senior One Day Challenger Trophy, Senior Multi Day Challenger Trophy, Senior T20 Trophy, Senior T20 Challenger Trophy, U-23 T20 Trophy, U-23 One Day Trophy, U-19 One Day Trophy, U-19 T20 Trophy, U-19 T20 Challenger Trophy, and U-15 One Day Trophy.

The domestic cricket season in India will kick off with the Duleep Trophy 2024, featuring several top international stars such as Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
