BCCI Punished RR Skipper Sanju Samson After His Controversial Dismissal In RR vs DC

The level of umpiring in the ongoing IPL 2024 hasn’t been up to the mark as there have been instances when poor decisions have been made despite the availability of the technology.

In yesterday’s match which was played between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals, the RR Skipper Sanju Samson was dismissed in a controversial manner as many felt that Shai Hope touched the boundary line while taking Samson’s catch on the boundary line. Sanju Samson was also seen having an argument with the on-field umpires regarding his dismissal and this didn’t go well with the BCCI.

The RR skipper has been fined 30 percent of his match fees as a punishment, as per IPL statement, Sanju Samson has ‘committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.8 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct’ and he has also accepted the Match Referee’s sanction.

The statement read, “Sanju Samson, Captain, Rajasthan Royals has been fined 30 percent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 56 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on May 07, 2024.”

What is your take in regard to Sanju Samson’s dismissal?
