Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments on India’s Got Latent, comedian Bharti Singh has voiced her support for Samay Raina. While interacting with the paparazzi in Mumbai, Bharti defended the popular stand-up comic, calling him talented and well-loved by the younger generation.
Having previously appeared on Samay’s hit show alongside her husband, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Bharti dismissed the backlash surrounding his content. “The show itself has a certain style, but it’s not necessary to say only what the show demands.
It’s your choice—speak or stay silent. Samay never forces anyone to talk. He’s an amazing guy and incredibly talented. Gen-Z loves him. If you meet him, you’ll become a fan too,” she shared, as quoted by a leading publication.
Addressing criticism about Samay’s style of humor and language, Bharti added, “If you don’t like the way he speaks, that’s fine. But there are millions of people—including us—who enjoy watching Samay Raina.”
Bharti isn’t the first celebrity to stand by Samay amid the controversy. As discussions around the issue continue, the comedian has found strong support from few in the entertainment industry including Poonam Pandey and Rakhi Sawant.
