Shilpa Shirodkar, a contestant on Bigg Boss 18, recently shared her thoughts about Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu who is married to her sister Namrata Shirodkar. Shilpa, often seen spending time with Mahesh and Namrata, praised her brother-in-law in a new interview. However, she expressed her desire for people to recognise her for her own work rather than just her relationship with Mahesh Babu.
In the 1990s, Shilpa established herself in Bollywood, starring in several popular Hindi films such as Khuda Gawah, Bewafa Sanam, Kishen Kanhaiya, Return of Jewel Thief, Gopi Kishan, etc. She later transitioned to television, featuring in a few TV shows, further expanding her career.
During an interview with Navbharat Times, Shilpa Shirodkar addressed the label of being introduced as Mahesh Babu’s sister-in-law. She said, “I am very proud that Mahesh (Babu) is my brother-in-law. He is family to me. He is also very happy that I am starting work again with Bigg Boss, but like you said, I have also been in this industry for a very long time and have done a good job. So, there is no reason to think in just one way.”
While Mahesh Babu and Namrata have not publicly commented on Shilpa’s participation in Bigg Boss 18, Shilpa revealed earlier that they were excited for her. Here’s what Shilpa told TOI, “(Namrata and Mahesh) are very happy for me. They are very proud of me and they just know that whatever I do, I’ll do it myself. I know I’m going to make them very proud. As a family, we are a very close-knit family. They are very supportive of me.”
Shilpa’s charm has won over audiences, with many viewers expressing their support and rooting for her in the show which is airing on Colors TV and streaming on JioCinema.
