In the wake of India’s decisive overnight operation targeting terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan’s Bahawalpur region, the Bollywood film industry has stood firmly in support of the armed forces. The operation, dubbed Operation Sindoor, was launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.
Actors Riteish Deshmukh and Nimrat Kaur, along with filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, took to social media to express their admiration and solidarity. Deshmukh shared his sentiment with a powerful message: “Jai Hind Ki Sena… Bharat Mata Ki Jai!!! #OperationSindoor,” aligning himself with the national sentiment following the retaliatory strike. Echoing similar support, Bhandarkar posted, “Our prayers are with our forces. One nation, together we stand. Jai Hind, Vande Mataram.” Nimrat Kaur added her voice to the chorus of support, stating, “United with our forces. One country. One mission. #JaiHind #OperationSindoor.”
Their comments came shortly after the Ministry of Defence officially confirmed that the Indian Air Force had successfully struck multiple terror infrastructure sites, all while remaining within Indian airspace. These actions were characterized by officials as “measured and non-escalatory,” aiming specifically at terror targets without engaging any Pakistani military assets.
The Indian Army later reinforced the operation’s success with a post that read, “Justice is served. Jai Hind,” solidifying the sentiment of mission accomplishment and national pride. In addition to the film fraternity, several political leaders, including Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, commended the armed forces for their swift and effective response.
Sources have revealed that the strikes resulted in the elimination of at least 17 terrorists and injured 60 more. The areas targeted in this calculated operation included Kotli, Ahmadpur Sharqia, Muzaffarabad, Muridke, and Faisalabad. The military maintained that each strike was precisely coordinated to minimize escalation and avoid direct confrontation with Pakistani military installations.
