According to officials, the CBI raided the home of former Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik and 29 other locations on Thursday for wrongdoing in the Rs 2,200-crore Kiru Hydropower project.
Around 100 cops were mobilized in the morning to swoop down at 30 areas across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Delhi and Mumbai, sources said.
They stated that Malik’s R K Puram, Dwarka, Asian Games Village, Gurugram, and Baghpat properties were searched.

Malik, who was governor of Jammu and Kashmir from August 23, 2018 to October 30, 2019, claimed he was offered a Rs 300-crore payment to clear two papers, including the project file.
The CBI had stated that the case was filed on charges of malpractices in the 2019 award of the Kiru Hydro Electric Power Project (HEP) civil works contract worth roughly Rs 2,200 crore to a private company.
Former Chenab Valley Power Projects Private Limited officials M S Babu, M K Mittal, and Arun Kumar Mishra and Patel Engineering Limited were booked by the agency.
‘Though a decision was taken in the 47th board meeting of CVPPPL (Chenab Valley Power Projects (P) Ltd) for re-tendering through e-tendering with a reverse auction after the cancellation of the ongoing tendering process, the same was not implemented (according to the 48th board meeting) and the tender was finally awarded to Patel Engineering Limited,’ the FIR claimed.
Five people’s homes were searched by the agency in January.
