CID Actor Daya Says The Channel Sabotaged Their Show & Reason Was Internal Politics

CID is one of the most loved shows of Indian television and it is also one of the longest running shows as it was aired for around 21 years (1998-2018). As the name suggests, the show was all about a team of criminal investigators who used to solve criminal cases and catch criminals.

The actors who played main characters in the show were Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, Aditya Srivastava, Alana Sayed, Ajay Nagrath, Shraddha Musale, Sudhanshu Pandey, Gaurav Khanna, Hrishikesh Pandey, Dinesh Phadnis, etc.

CID has 1500 episodes and there are many fans who still watch the old episodes out of their love for the show. Many people are still not able to understand as to why the show went off-air despite getting so much of love.

Recently, the actor Dayanand Shetty who used to play the character of Inspector Daya gave an interview in which he made a shocking statement regarding CID going off-air.

He said, “Humko aisa lagta tha ki 21 saal jis pace pe aur jis craze ke saath ye chal raha tha toh band karne ki zaroorat nahi thi. Kuch internal politics bhi hio sakta hai ya phir, like I said destiny. Humko fir bhi lagta hai somehwhere ki show ko sabotage kiya gaya hai.”

In simple words, Dayanand feels that the reason behind discontinuing the show is internal politics and they feel that show has been sabotaged.

If this is true, then it’s quite disappointing. What is your take in this regard?
