Stree 2 recently emerged as the biggest Bollywood hit of the year, a milestone that brought immense joy to the film’s cast and crew. However, the success also sparked a curious social media battle, with fans of the lead actors vying to claim the most credit for their favorite stars.
In an interview with a leading portal, the director of the movie, Amar Kaushik shared his perspective on the situation, explaining that such disputes are not uncommon, especially when a film achieves significant success. “Honestly, fans of stars usually have this fight on social media where they claim their favourite actor should get all the credit for the movie. It is okay. It is really to each their own,” Kaushik said, acknowledging that these fan-driven battles often escalate on social media.
Kaushik emphasized that these tensions typically arise due to external influences, particularly when those around the actors feed into the narrative that they deserve more recognition. “When a film does well, people around [the stars] feed such things in the minds of everyone, including the cast, that they should get credit for the movie,” he added.
To avoid getting caught up in the noise, Kaushik revealed his personal approach to handling the situation. “I just went for a vacation to stay away from the noise because it is usually when you hit a certain mark is when it becomes easier to get trapped in such social media games,” he explained.
Despite the social media commotion, Kaushik reassures that the strong bond within the Stree 2 team remains unaffected, and the focus remains on celebrating the film’s success. The movie has already crossed the Rs. 500 crore mark in the domestic market and it is expected to cross the Rs. 600 crore mark as well.
