The cricket fans of India and Pakistan were pretty excited before the start of the Asia Cup 2023 as there were chances of both the nations facing each other three times in the tournament but they got disappointed after the first match got abandoned due to rain. Though the weather was not good for the second encounter as well, the authorities kept a reserve day for the game because of which the match got completed and cricket lovers got to see some fantastic cricket being played, especially by the Indian side.
Many fans anticipated India-Pak final as both the teams look stronger than other teams, India has already confirmed its place in the finals and Pakistan will need to defeat Sri Lanka in today’s match if it has to play the finals. As of now, the match has been delayed due to rain and if the match gets washed out, then Sri Lanka which is also the defending champion will get to play the finals depending on the net run rate.
The former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra made a huge statement in regard to the India-Pak final in his YouTube channel. He said, “If we see today’s match, it has become a straight shoot-out. The big thing is that this tournament’s history says that it won’t allow an India-Pakistan final even though you might try your best.”
He further talked as to why it is looking like an India-Pak contest, “Who did you keep in your group – Nepal. You made only two teams to go out from the six and then wanted to play in the Super Four and the final as well. So, it seems like it’s an India-Pakistan tournament. Only India-Pakistan gets a reserve day as well, no one else gets it.”
